I let my plant possibly grow too tall for what my grow space can accommodate!!

My white widow plant in a 3 1/2g container has been begging for 2 months. I am about to switch to 12/12. Measured the height of the plant and it measured 27". My light has a max height of about 5'. I had my last grow, of the exact same WW under a trellis and the flowering stretch didn't seem to make more than about a 9" increase. Would putting a trellis over this plant be my best bet or will I likely be ok just going with what I currently have....the plant does have a tomato cage around it.

trellis is a good idea, or you could top, or you could supercrop (pinch/bend over stems), or build a new house.

i'd go with trellis. you can just keep bending the branches down and along the net as they grow. it's like cheating.

when this happens to me, i just supercrop because i am lazy.
That's probably the route I'll take. If I go ahead switch my light schedule, can I add the trellis at like a week into flower without harming or stressing my plant too much?

i'm sure you could, but it's probably better to do it sooner than later.

I made a net out of small pvc and twine to combat this problem. I ended up tie strapping down to the net.
