Street light effect on photos in back yard

ok got a question have a small garden in backyard I also have a street light in back corner of my yard. Is this going to effect the photos flowering? Plants are down between some veggies about same height or a bit smaller.

When looking out window it's hard to see garden, pretty dark. Thanks for help

How far are the plants from the light?

I grew one under a st light as a kid. Lol. It never flowered.

You can be kind of close to them. If to close it will slow flower on one side or whole plant.

If you can hang a tarp to block the light if its too bright. Don't have to cover them. Just make a wall. Lay it down during the day, stand it up at night.

I keep a back porch light on a 60 watt about 80ft. from my green house no problem.a full moon is fairly bright if it is less that that it should be ok

Even @ 50' reflected light should be fine as I've grown w/i 60' of a 250-400W streetlight before.

If light is direct it becomes trickier, but @ 150' the worst that could happen is you'll probably get uneven maturation like @whitebb2727 says above.

Any light pullution will make them run a bit. And be a bit larfy.

You can always build a frame and staple shade cloth to put up each evening.

And growing autos is seriously disappointing. Tiny yield. Substandard product compared to photoperiod buds. IMHO.

I've grown with street lights and a neighbor (care residence) with security lighting (50ft away) shining into my back yard. I can't say if the crops would have been better without the lights, but they did finish and the plants I had that produced, produced well.

My alcoholic neighbour gets too drunk to turn off his porch light regularly which is only 30ft away. Haven't seen any issues last couple of years in that location. Gonna ask him to put a switch outside the door so I can turn it off myself... or just keep shooting it out like @TWS ;)

Funny was just about to say that, the fixture is like 3x thumbscrews. I'll just remove the bulb, he probably won't notice ;) Nice guy, just not too sharp...

Wrong on the autos. For you to say that you haven't run some recently.

We have a thread on it. Aot of breeders putting autos out in the high 20% THC. 3-5 ft tall with half pound in less than 90 days.

Hmmm. What an amazing power you have to know what people have been growing.

I don't like autos. Even the new ones. Even the Dinafem ones that I have recently grown don'tinterest me.

I prefer cracking unsexed seeds, and growing top shelf 5+ pound monsters. That's the way they grow around here.

And that's wonderful that there is a thread for autoflowers. I've been on here for a long time. This is just my new account, so I've seen what there is to offer here.

But thanks for your opinion.

Worry about light pollution just like you do pests, nutrients, and watering. Its actually the key comoponent to flowering (except ruderalis, or what people call autoflowering strains). During the long cool night cycles your plants produce florinol, and when the cycle is interrupted it resets the clock. With background lighting you get leafy buds that have a tendency to run.

Looking at it from the perspective of a horticulturist the darker the better. Its science.
