Wen on a hike yesterday morning and found a bunch of crushed volvanic rock along the whole trail. I been resesearching that cinder has almost the same mineral composition as basalt so im gonna go back for some and do a test run. side by side one plant the dust from the trail the other will have basalt from buildasoil.

well 2 posts really got my attention lol, be sure to report.

I ve got a new theory about growing healthy plants, we all try so hard, I am coming to the conclusion that the real secret to grow fucking healthy plants is microbes, which are in the highest concentration in worm poop, and other insects poop, so I am just creating habitats for insects and feeding them, eventually, its good to have the biggest diversity of soil amendments, but not necessary, and ultimately, you need the microbes to help the plants absorb them.... what I am trying to say is I am sure your free volcanic rock dust is at least as good as the basalt... so go for free.

I completely agree, and i've always , always said that the secret is in the humus, being fresh as possible, either as worm castings or an established compost.
both are so completely loaded with microbes.
you'd be surprised how very little the plants need past that

You must be growing some fine weed my friend.
as much as i'd love to say it's me that's doing it, I really attribute it to the compost, since I changed my methods it's been the easiest damn growing ever.
I water, and pay for the lights.
so yea, I'd love to say i'm awesome at it... buuut
plant grows on it's own, past me picking the genetics that's the biggest influence I have on them.

But hey, I can totally pour water like a bad mofo, course then there's gravity, ah fuck me, I guess I don't even do that, I guide the water in it's downward path to my plants.

I will take credit on being a pretty good composter though, now that is a bit of an art.
and a bit of work as well

I water...and pay for lights....haha I feel you bro. Even when I feel like I'm doing a bunch of crazy stuff...the most I'm ever doing is adding more compost or maybe making a Guano tea...at least until my guano stockpile dwindles down.

whatever I have on hand, plants still need food. I must say though, without a doubt, my best weed comes from my plants that fade early.
my experience as well, but I have a bunch of 90-120 day plants, and it seems those are the most likely to fade anyways..
course I've had some that stay green till the end.
indicas tend to stay dark throughout, but I've had some strains that mimic the autumn colors, reds, yellows, greens

I am taking mine a little further, first time growing SSH, so far not blown away by the pheno I got but I made some seeds with a dragon fruit male and we'll see what she's like in the jar....and the joint!
just be certain it's the "real deal"
it's sorta like the c99 in that you can get imposters...
I've ran the SSH three times and the other two times it sure as shit wasn't the real deal.
course it's sorta like the old school strains... often duplicated..
SSH, northern lights #5, skunk #1, ECSD, c99, jack herer
those are so legendary and old that they have been "impostered" plenty of times

Doesn't green house seeds still have the original in seed form?

I have no idea man, I doubt it's the "original"
here is the story behind it
https://www.medicaljane.com/review/super-silver-haze-strain-review/
The Super Silver Haze strain really rose to fame at the end of the 20th Century, when it won the HIGH TIMES Cannabis Cup three years in a row. The strain was under the care of Green House Seeds at that point, but the company’s co-founders split soon thereafter.

Then came the establishment of Mr. Nice Seeds. It was established using some of Neville’s most prized genetics, including the award-winning Super Silver Haze stock. Mind you, Green House Seeds still offers a version of the strain, but there are mixed opinions about how well it compares to the original.

from your article so maybe GHS got a replica and mr nice seeds the original

well that was more from my experience, every time I smoke the "real" SSH
it's totally different than the others.
sorta what happens with northern lights.
I've smoked some northern lights that put me DOWN.
and I have smoked others that weren't the same strain, don't care what the grower says.
I think it's more that they are using similar lineage, but getting different results.

Yeah also could be wild phenotype variations, I grew some strains that had phenotypes that were night and day one plant a short indica the other plant a giant sativa so idk maybe weird phenos?
