Aerogardens are simply too small to grow cannabis plants and flowering with CFLs is a waste of time and money. The results are always poor.

Once you jack up an Aerogarden and put some proper grow equipment under it (especially lighting), you might get a competent grow. It's a bit like Grandpa's axe, you know, the one which is on its 4th handle and 5th head... but by gum, it's still Grandpa's axe.
You can duplicate the watering function of an Aerogarden (and that's all it is- a watering system) for about 10-20% of the cost of an Aerogarden... and all you need to do is read a bit to learn how. Look for mogie's posts on DIYing an aero system.
Knowledge isn't just power, it's financially sensible. Why not have something that does the same job or better for a fraction of the cost when all it takes to do it right is some research... which on balance is rather cheap?
