Thank you! And, yeah moving from So-Cal to Portland, while for me was social suicide in a sense, still one of the best decisions I ever made. :)
took a little road trip from cen-cal to coos bay Oregon is way cool I'm recently retired & relocated to the Sierra gold country (San Andreas) love the hills it's not Oregon but it's close got kayaks, camp trailer fishing gear, boat etc, what I don't have is a led light (lol) do you have any regrets in your choice of the vipar vs the more expensive ones my friends vipers are getting good results & I'll try to get some pics soon as he is about 40 miles away I'm seriously considering the 600 vipar for my waterfarm scrog 29x29 as I've been looking at high priced ones but it seems you've done some homework & you're getting results here is this mornings pic of my 400 hps scrog I'm thinking for a single or double plant grow it would work just fine if I win the lotto I'll get a high dollar ledimage.jpeg

Oregon is a fabulous place. When we moved here a few years back, Salem was very different. If I remember right, uhaul said pdx was destination #1 last year, people are coming here in droves....

When I said BUD was local, I meant I drive by there once a week or so. Never met the dudes....

How tall were your plants before you switched them over?
There's a story to that... lol

I originally bought 4 clones of some Scott's OG, kept three and gave one to someone to keep a mother for me. Two cycles later, I decided I wanted to do some breeding... The plan was to flip a GG #4 clone to male using the colloidal silver method, and then breed it to one of my Scott's OG females. Unfortunately, the foster parent of my mother plant hasn't been taking very good care of her, and gave me some crap clones that all died.. Needing to stay on schedule I ended up grabbing 3 OG and 1 GG#4 clones from a friend, with hopes I could get at least just one healthy clone from the Scott's OG. When that fell through, I decided to say F' it and grow all four clones out, and revisit breeding next cycle. (Hopefully I'll be getting the mother back soon, if she still alive.)

With that said.. after FIM'ing, and just over three weeks of veg with the new light, I had 4 little bushes that were quickly out growing my closet. Instead of yanking out one or two, I went ahead and just pushed them up into the screen, have them a couple more days of veg, and flipped to flower. So to answer your question of how tall they were, probably close to about 10 inches or so, with a canopy of about a square foot each.

Nice! And nothing wrong with a 400w HPS at all, my 400w setup did me solid for years.
I've no regrets in purchasing the vipar system, though I don't think I'll hit my one pound mark with this cycle, but I attribute that to having too many plants with too little veg time.

I've got a couple of friends down in Salem, thought about moving there, but they never have anything good to say, lol! Also, it kind of reminds me of a cross between Riverside and Hemet back in so-cal. Both places not very much fun to live in.

I moved here for work, and love the state, though now working from home and going to OSU in the fall, I'm thinking of moving south a bit. PDX over the the last 5 years has become a bit crowded, and having grown up on a ranch, ten years of the whole city life thing has grown a bit tiresome.

I used to run two rooms 1 with a 600 & the other with a 1000 since moving my interest is in a smaller productive set up based around the waterfarm my 400w setup is a 250-400 Galaxy switchable that uses either hps or mh bulbs all in all a pretty good setup I veg with 250 & finish with the 400 like you did I'm wanting to try a led & keep my current light as a back up

I also moved here for work. The local motto is keep Salem lame and it is only half joking. But it is gorgeous, real estate is much less expensive than Portland, and the highlights of cities were far more appealing prior to children for my wife and I. And 45 minutes to Portland is really not a big deal when something is on offer; our childless friends mostly live in Portland. Indeed, we have thought about moving a bit out of Salem, there are some wonderful little places nearby. I will also say that Salem is improving as a place to live; better food, drink, and nightlife have come over the last five years.

Nice, it's good to hear there's still some charm to Salem. I've been looking at places in Albany and some of the other cities outside of Corvallis, to keep semi local to OSU.

Day 25, trichome production is picking up. The OG seems to be packing them on more heavily, though.View attachment 3731707 View attachment 3731709 View attachment 3731719
a picture is worth a thousand words I've been eyeballing the botanicare kind series of organic nutes for hydroponics I couldn't get the results I desired when I tried the General organics go box in e&f coco hydro is my hobby & my preferred method but on the flip side of things you are consuming this stuff & should excersise some care as to what goes into it especially when it comes to pest control I've been doing the indoor stuff about 6 years now & ever so often feel I'm in a rut so I change things up a bit which I've just done with the waterfarm & soon a led I haven't tried the general organics in dwc but have seen good reviews on the botanicare kind series I've been incorporating aurora soul synthetic nutes which is made by roots organics & not fully organic but uses kelp & guano as well as other good stuff it's giving me good results so far

I don't have much experience with liquid nutrients other than FF Big Bloom. A grower I know up here swears by an organic line called Great White.. I think that's the name but could be wrong. Glad you've find something that's giving you good results though. :)

Change of environment update:

So, due to the size of my ScrOG, and there not being much change in overall coverage of the lights footprint between 18" and 24" over my canopy. I've decided drop the light down to about 17", with about 18ish inches at a 45° angle from the tops along the outside edges of the screen.

I'm sure these girls are going to love it!

Last day of week four, and it's looking like a large majority of the tops are going to be in the range of 5 - 7 inches. Across the board, they're all roughly an inch wide, and at around 45 - 50 tops total, looking like a nice yeild is in store. I've added a very small amount (half table spoon) of Jobe's Organic blood meal to the top soil, to help avoid nitrogen deficiencies late into flower. These next 4 - 5 weeks are going to be exciting, as these girls start packing some weight on!!

Nice grow!
Do you think the GG#4 is also a good strain to grow it SOG?
I am thinking of grwoing a mother, cut clones and put a lot of them on a small space without almost no veg.
