Are 5 gallon pots adequate?

What size pots for each of the 4 plants per 1000w light in 30 day veg?

  • 3 gallon

  • 5 gallon

  • 7 gallon

  • 10 gallon

  • 15 gallon

  • 20 gallon

  • 25 gallon

  • 30 gallon

  • 50 gallon

When i said piece of cake i meant everything besides the trimming lol, I absolutely hate that shit, mostly bcuz i suck at it, and i can trim up a beauty, it's just that no matter how hard I try I'm excruciatingly slow at it. But not my buddies case, he's a beast at it, he'll trim up a whole pound in the same amount of time it takes me to trim less than an ounce lol, i really suck ass. But I've really been doing my research on those trimmer machines and I'm really thinking about buying one, they're madd expensive though.

I suck at it too... at first... the first couple plants i do about a zip every 1.5 hours. By the last plant i get down to a zip per hour.

If i did more plants than i do now i might think about a machine...

5x9 with 2 x 1000w. I do 4 plants in Promix Mycrohazea, vegged about 4 weeksin 5 gal pots, under each light. Usually get about 3 lbs. I want 4 lbs but to do that i think ill have to do SOG with 30+ plants under each light.. or maybe just veg my 8 plants a little longer...

But im on my own and that is about as much work as i can handle with a full time job...

You'll want a trimmer I would think. I've lost crops by not being able to trim fast enough with a partner. I had to trim wet to mitigate mould issues were they were hung and if not done quickly things can go bad quick lol. The drying room will need to be set/up to get rid of moisture quick with no smell if that's a concern.

Remove fan leaves n hang dry for 10-14 days for best results. Its a pain in ass to dry trim tho. If not use a bowl trimmer n trim fresh.

How many lights you running in there? 8? 12?

I use to run 1 plant per light. I suggest 20-30 gallon pots depending on genetics. Usually got 20-24 oz per light. Some strains only did 12-16 tho but that was rare case. 16-20 is easily realistic. I also suggest scrog em n lollipoping em.

Hopefully your using beneficals.

I use to water my girls n when there that big in a sealed room they drink few gallons day each. I would spend $40 n buy a drip kit. Unless you like spending alot of time watering...

And i am still learning, closing in on 2 per light, so your expectations are fine. Strain dependant, of course.

16 lights though...that is a shit ton of work for one guy... so my question would be...with 16 lights will you have enough time to spend on the plants to get even that 1.5ish per light?

16 1000 watt HPS, I'm doing 1 plant per light in 20 gallon SmartPots.
