my best yields and quality ever. thinking cobs should beat that but i have yet to get a full run under my belt yet

ive only done one run with CMH and i kinda liked some aspects of it but i messed it up.

I will say CLW build quality and support are absolutely top notch.Made in USA company (seriously they mill their own heatsinks onsite in socal) who takes care of their customers.

Yeah I really love my Osram Zelion HLs. Maybe I should get 2 of these and do a side by side with my 16 CXB 3590. 800 watts each

the only thing i dont love is 500 W of leds all together like that. i got rid of all of my solarstorm 400 and 800 units in favor of the 165W solarstorm 200 series. have a bunch and can spread them out in arrays.

also the old ones were the 5W, not the 3W osrams. The 2015s with the 3W osrams are about 20% brighter than the 2014 5W chip models. i imagine the solar system is the same watt for watt or maybe these bin a little higher. i might grab one just to do par tests. i cant beleive they are selling these for less than the solarstorm 400s- thats very aggressive pricing

Yeah... They're 400w. I suppose it covers a 3x4 or so.

looks like a great price per watt & from the little I can see about the controller, it looks pretty simple an intuitive. I buy the spread of 3x4 from a 400w light as well. Good to see Cali lightworks stepping up their game and getting something to the market for under a grand for tent growers.

but light you said bobby, its a small light. so clearly it will have to be hung pretty high up to get a good spread.

What would be the better fixture for 3x4/4x3 optimum coverage. The CLW 550 solar storm or Fluence VYPRx ?

Wow, this new 550 looks very promising.

I'm also still in the market for a good 4x4 tent light. I've had my finger on various buy buttons for a few weeks, I really hope to pick one soon.

This is my first grow -
I have a 4x4 tent, and I'd like to use as much of the footprint as possible, but its not totally necessary and I don't want to break the bank just to fill it. I want a good quality, easy to use light what will grow well in that space. Future grows wont be limited to space.

Many of the LED lights out now seem to cover a 2x3 or 3x3 space, finding 1 perfect light for a 4x4 may either either too expensive, or too hard to configure in a 4x4 tent space. I've been researching the best option. Maybe its better to get a smaller light for now(3x3 bloom coverage) and add to it over time (for future grows),

I think my top contenders are these options now.

1 - Timber DIY cobs - Two of these for a 4x4 -I'd probably just do 2 straight bars for each DIY kit (I'm hesitant to DIY, mainly for safety/insurance reasons)

Seeing this with the controller and ease of using/adding multiple devices looks great. Water proof, easy to use, light weight are big pluses for me

Maybe my needs/searches will help others that are also looking.

BOBBY_G has already mentioned the high amount of power radiating from a relatively small area. I've found this to be true of the 325W from a 6x9" panel on my LumiGrow Pro 325's. They are best suited for high mounting in a green house, IMO.

I have a set of five Pros (and a fleet of the old blue models) but they are being retired for CXB3590 rigs.

There's nothing to installing the timber DIY kits. It's like Lego blocks. Just push together basically. The frame you make just requires a drill aluminum from store and a riveter. It's really too too easy.

Other than that I'd go with northern grow lights....the clu 058

That's just my .2c.

I concur, I would also be going with timber overall, especially now that that have osrams ( thanks @BM9AGS ) just can't push the button on it until the fall and hopefully its not to late.
