She can go to Wal Mart and get a T8 two bulb Lights of America for $10.97 and two 6500K GE T8's for $7.44/$7.68. She can put the lights close to the plants. The Lights of America fixture is cheezy and poorly made but works. Lowes has a better Utilitech for about $18. The two bulb T8 will be hitting them with about 11,000 lumens.

Miracle Grow is crap.

In my opinion? ViparSpectra. Mars, secondly, if budget is the name of the game. Mars is improving with each new product line, but I feel more confident with this current light. 3 year warranty, as well.

ViparSpectra and Mars 300w Reflectors are both $99. The ViparSpectra 450w (what I use) is $149. I do think the ViparSpectra is of better quality, but the MarsHydro does grow. I've seen some good product from it. I just think so far, my confidence is with ViparSpectra.

I have Blue Cheese going. They say it's stinky, and it is if you walk up and smell it, and if you enter the room, but I don't think you can smell it ouside of the grow room, as long as you use LEDs because they run cool. Otherwise, you'll NEED ventilation and air filtration.

Seriously, though, you should drill a few holes around the rim of the bottom if you can do it without destroying the pot. Otherwise, you should transplant it. If your roots sit in water that isn't dissolving oxygen, they'll suffocate.
