How much time should I be spending

As a new rookie grower I'm concerned I'm spending too much time fiddling with things. I am currently in seedling/veg state (8 plants in solo cups with 4 sets of baby leaves on each plant ) . For now I've been checking my grow daily about 3-5 times every day (several times in afternoon and once early in the morning before I head off to work) checking any cooling issues and soil moisture. I've been lightly spaying the top part of my soil to leave things humid to moist for now. No nutes just FFOF soil. Any suggestions will be welcomed.

I check in about twice a day, mostely just to make sure my timers are working proper

checking on them that often is fine especially to check on temps. problems arise when you fiddle with them 3-5 times per day. if your phone is private, you can take a picture once per day to monitor progress.

I usually spend 30 mins to an hour a day - every evening after my lights come on. I think there may be a difference between checking and fiddling tho . I most definitely checked more often in the beginning, though - its hard not to!. Good luck homie!

Everything ive read about CFL growing calls for having the lighting within 1-3 inches off the plant. You saying no? Wouldnt that stretch the plant some? Im only asking because im new to all this.

I didn't say anything about CFL placement

So let's say you only checked them twice a day .....would that have changed anything up to this point.....that should answer your question

with your garden and only being in cups you should be spending about 5 min a day with them. As you scale up.and have a perpetual garden your time will increase. I spend anywhere from 4 hours to 12 hours a day on my garden. I have 12 x 8 flower area and 2 veg rooms. I make ice wax and rosin for me and other growers too. That's an all day thing just to wash material.

Same here for the most part. Transplanting and cloning adds a few more minutes when it's that time but for the most part I know I need to water every 3 days roughly and that really only takes a few minutes. If I'm already in the basement swapping laundry or something I'll poke my head in to make sure a light or fan didn't shit on me but that's about as far as it goes.

My bad, I assumed and made an ass out of me. Lol I read hover and immediately I thought of my cfls hovering real close.

I spend 2 hours a day with my plants, we exhale Co2, they love how company, more time you spend with your plants, you will be rewarded, trust me on this.

u can cover the cups with sandwich baggies when small if humidity is a issue.

I sit and smoke J's with mine and talk to them explaining it not canna-balistic to enjoy the smoke. Time in working, least as possible I get lazy with them and they don't mind.

I spend about 40-60mins once a week changing over the res on my veg and flower tents, then maybe 5mins each day, but that's just to watch them lol. In hydro you watch them grow by the day.
