The next wave of pot shops flouting Vancouver’s dispensary bylaw has been slapped with injunction papers.
The City of Vancouver is continuing its crackdown on unlicenced pot shops, applying in court for 10 more injunctions this week.
That’s on top of 17 injunctions filed in May, which Chief Licensing Inspector Andreea Toma says are now winding their way through the courts.
“It’s up to the court system to schedule them, and they have a specific amount of time for the applicant to respond to what was filed, and I believe that was 21 days, so it’s making its way through the system.”
Toma says the City is targeting another batch of 10, which she expects will be filed in the next two to three weeks.
