Watch this water chiller video for even more ideas. It's set up to cool everything. I'm not sure if they're still in business. I'm going to watch it again just because I am so impressed with it.
the standard one just shippingConsider a reefer trailer. Pun intended. I mean a trailer already fitted with a refridgerator for transporting foods. Like if it were a trailer, not a Shipping Container, think about a 43 footer. They are already insulated to some degree and have the reefer unit but. Not sure how much it would cost in diesel fuel. Though you could always replace it with some other refridgerator unit if it's too much. I am thinking a chiller set up. But, unfamiliar with that method. Anyway dude. Love the idea! Just don't run out of Deisel fuel. They have shipping containers set up with reefers as well tho.
it called a ice box but it works on a exchange system as u need the fan to pass the cool air into the systemWatch this water chiller video for even more ideas. It's set up to cool everything. Dude. Think stealth. Camo cover. You can't just have a grow in a commercial or industrial lot. you think they'll give you a separate electric meter? what about security? you need a place to park that puppy on some land away from many neighbors.
Seriously Ugh. I'm just throwing idears out there. The OP's idea has been done before and journaled here on the RIU. Personally, I have no plans at all to go that big. But, I like how clean the set up and effiecency is in the video. It's not THE solution but a very smart option. Also, old reefer units can't be had for a bargain. Working or not working I don't think the increase in price for an already insulated unit will be much more than the materials and labor to insulate one. It's all just an idea.the standard one just shipping
1600-2200
insulted your looking at 4000-5500(look at build own walk in freezer )
as for one with working frig units u are getting to 12000-15000 (very rare for working one to be sold cheaply )
the conversions over in a open grow is going to run about 40-60K
the conversions over to hidden depending on how u want to do it 80k to 100k
i been working in these for the fact a parking lot is cheaper to rent then a building and with the right config
i am almost 100% sure now i can start a grow on a comerical lot and skip the cost of the a building using these with a combo of 2 of them changed into a gaint battery bank for solar and wind turbines to off set the power needs
leaving me only the over head of water soil feed meaning i can lower my prices to clean out the stock and keep a good profit margin
it called a ice box but it works on a exchange system as u need the fan to pass the cool air into the system
sealed is better for the increased weight vs cost of propain .......the equipment cost is always recovered with in 2or 3 grows from the profit margins
all sites have electrical hook ups .....they might be under ground but every lot zoned has to have it to tie intoYou can't just have a grow in a commercial or industrial lot. you think they'll give you a separate electric meter? what about security? you need a place to park that puppy on some land away from many neighbors.

I respect that you may be trying to get established in another state on a shoe-string budget, but sharing proximity of your grow to other tenants or a commercial lot, just sounds like a recipe for disaster imo. Perhaps there is another way, where you'll have more elbow room. Or develop your moving plan in stages and work up to the shipping container on an acre of land your second year.all sites have electrical hook ups .....they might be under ground but every lot zoned has to have it to tie into
and yes i think it is more then possible to do it .........

that is to live in ......the laws about growing are set
the area must be locked up and under your control out of public view
must be in correctly zoned areas
must not interfere with local life
and as the structures are not permit they can be relocated it gets by on so many other laws it not even funny

lol. I still luv ya crazy ass bro. Is this what you have in mind homie?i have thought all about this. bad growurowndank manners
I'm thinking dog a hole and bury it. Build a shed on top for an entrance. It's been done before no shit. And it is somewhere here on the RIU with pics if you can find it.I respect that you may be trying to get established in another state on a shoe-string budget, but sharing proximity of your grow to other tenants or a commercial lot, just sounds like a recipe for disaster imo. I'm not trying to discourage you by any means my friend, just recognizing common pitfalls, mainly, other people.

Nice. This is all I can afford tho.
to rec grow in oregon u have to be on a comerical lot ........the other way is called a Co-op were u are making medical that can be don on private land away where in legal countiesI respect that you may be trying to get established in another state on a shoe-string budget, but sharing proximity of your grow to other tenants or a commercial lot, just sounds like a recipe for disaster imo. u need to make shade for itI have about the same size ship cont. 45x8x8. As long as you are exhausting the lights and running a/c you will stay dry and cool. Now...your biggest concerns are going to be when the sun hits this container and it starts to bake. Heavy insulation needed in flower area. My container is white but the top is galvanized, it will burn your hands to touch it after an hr in the sun. Lots of insulation, I cant express this enough. You dont want to leave this unattended till you have it dialed in.
The reefer unit generally uses propane, not diesel. They don't have the capacity to chill an active growroom.Consider a reefer trailer. Pun intended. I mean a trailer already fitted with a refridgerator for transporting foods. Like if it were a trailer, not a Shipping Container, think about a 43 footer. Shipping containers usually have holes top and bottom at each corner. Use that to attach the poles to hold the tarp above the container. Like the camo cover idea.u need to make shade for it
4 poles sunk into the ground .......then get a tarp and rope ......stretch it out and lace the rope tho sides accordion style ....then tie the ropes off to the poles and u can use a rope to pull it out and cover the top making shade or close it (just dig holes for the poles and pour in concrete to stabilize it ) and u should be good the wind will not take it and u have shade ......other choice is to buy a shade cover with holes in it to allow wind tho cost more just cheaper to replace tarp every few years
other trick is to use hay stack it like 3 or 4 feet on top of it then cover with white tarp pulling it down tight so have about 2 feet of a air bubble .......mr ken taught me that one
