I couldn't sell any of the mephisto tk crosses until I dry sifted/pressed it into rosin.

By elite I mean that it tastes incredible + puts you on your ass EVERY time.
0 Tolerance build up + sells extremely fast.

Of course mine are starved. They are in a 3 gallon pot of dirt and get water only their whole lives. Boy these suckers really do grow themselves. bongsmilie


But I'm not a commercial grower. I have no need for mothers or clones or having to get another tent to just veg. I like planting something different each week and reaping the rewards 11-12 weeks later in my one tent.


Seeds are cheap($4-7 from mephisto depending on quantity), and I'd be planting photo periods from seed anyway, so there's no argument of cost savings here.


I showed you my photoperiods, you didn't like them either, so it's not just autos you don't like, it's anything that's not to your elite standards? :bigjoint:

Mephisto looks to have the most impressive auto genetics I've seen, no doubt. I'm not a big fan of autoflowerers, but I applaud some of those grows, unreservedly.

Photo or Auto, they look terrible because of rootbound.

Ever heard of a top-dress? wow I guess auto's are for ignorant growers...
I've found "elite" females from seed, topdawg/dynasty/bodhi/archive

I can keep cloning the keepers forever, while your still buying same autofem seeds to find that phenotype that was better than the rest.

If they're so good, why don't I see people in legal states filling their rooms with them?

Ruderalis genetics only eliminate the photo-period + produce more leaf in the offspring.
Mephisto tk crosses are nothing like triangle kush + require much more trimming.

I don't care if people grow sub-par genetics that don't resemble the plant their trying to recreate in auto form.

Mephisto was trying to create an auto TK + failed miserably...

Ruderalis has the special genes, crossed with a photo, makes the plant more unique and desirable, cloneheads choose photo's over auto's because of cloning, my auto's are fire and whoop the photo periods i grew last year, i don't clone, i can afford seeds and the more you clone plants the less potent they get. Leaf material is how you feed it, ruderalis isnt leafy haha

As a newbie whose just starting, the primary reason for me is the less variables I can pull out of the equation while learning the better. I don't care if I waste energy, lose potential yield, miss some important lessons in the event I move on later, pay more for stock, etc. If an auto boosts my chance of learning some of the basics from germ to harvest, to me that is priceless. I've never grown before, in fact I've never been in the presence of a developing cola... I want to get to that stage just to bask in it's glory even if an experienced non-auto grower considered it garbage : o )

That plus my job is bananas and although I'm very thankful for it, between that and the family I'm really short on time. For me, I'd rather be very good at getting the most out of a good auto strain by this time next year than be sub-par with standard methods for years to come. I don't have a green thumb and I'm somewhat of an old dog.

I'd LOVE to totally geek out on this and embrace it as my top time consuming hobby but until the little ones are out of the house, sadly I don't see that happening. Not sure if that qualifies me as a justifiable target audience member for autos, to each his own.

Autos do eliminate the variable of changing lights, unfortunately that's probably the easiest part of growing, you aren't doing anything different with an auto than you would do with a photo plant, the only difference is when you make those first time mistakes you won't be able to correct them in time to save your yield, perhaps after this auto grow you try a photo period running 12/12 from seed or clone, it eliminates just as much as running an auto does and will allow you more ooops time should you need any

That makes a lot of sense. Another factor that I didn't mention is I'd like to try multiple strains to see what appeals to me however I only want to be growing for a few months out of the year and I don't want multiple grow locations. With autos (please correct me if I'm wrong) I can get away with the same light schedule regardless if I'm running 3 separate strains. I know heights will vary which will require varying light distances per strain but my light array is setup for that. I mean, is there another way to grow multiple photo strains concurrently without independent growing/light-controlled spaces?

12/12 lighting works the same on all photo strains, and just like autos you can sit the shorter plants on objects to make them just as tall as the tall ones, plus you can run all of your different strains at the same time with same light schedule and have them off for 4 hours longer saving $$:peace:

Very nice. Admittedly I didn't come across any mention of the 12/12 approach. It seems that this could indeed move me into photo seeds while retaining the simplicity of autos and I'd be able to never stress about ordering seeds again... I was already anticipating lower yields (looking at some of the 12/12 research now and that's the only downside I'm seeing) so hell man why not I guess. I have a feeling in a years time I'll re-visit this post and laugh. I've already got my auto seeds (WW, King's Kush CBD, Candy Kush) so I'll rock these first and then onto 12/12 I'll go.

yields aren't all that bad running 12/12 from seed considering the little effort and light used 63g isn't badIMAG1282.jpg IMAG1220.jpg
