Nice grow!
Do you think the GG#4 is also a good strain to grow it SOG?
I am thinking of grwoing a mother, cut clones and put a lot of them on a small space without almost no veg.
Thank you!
This is my first time with the strain, and to my knowledge she's a sativa dominant hybrid, which makes me think a ScrOG would work better. However, the structure of the girl I'm growing is more of an indica pheno, so I could see her doing well in a SOG. I guess it just really comes down to the pheno of your mother plant. If that makes sense?

It does!
I did read indeed that is a hybrid.
But not many people are growing them (Or I can find any reports...)
I will follow you and see what it does.

Though I have yet see indoor run, the grower that I got the clones from ran this strain outdoors last year and the plant was a beast! My friend stuck his hand in the trim bucket, and when it out came it looked like thing from the fantastic 4, a giant rock hand lol!

Only two days into week five and the flower production is doing wonderfully! With really only three weeks of veg time, I was a bit worried, but these girls are loving this light.

Thank you I'm pretty happy with how everything thing is coming along. It's a real life story of turning lemons into lemonade, lol!

Look at those pretty little flowers, my how fast they grow up! lol
Can't wait to see how the 1200's are doing, I'm considering picking up either 3 of those or 3 more of the 900's.

So, after much observation I'm beginning to think that the clones were mis-labeled when I got them. For the life of me, I couldn't wrap my brain around the stark differences in structure of the plants.

The OG has a very sativa like structure, and the GG#4 a very indica like structure. This can be seen in the leaves, stalk & branching system, and rate of maturity.

Being that, it's to my understanding, those observations should be switched. I think I have 3x GG#4 and 1x OG. Regardless, tasty looking flowers and that's all that really matters lol

Nice, those girls look beautiful!! Looks like I'm not giving my light the respect it needs as far as distance from the canopy lol

I'm interested in what his yield per sq foot ends up being.

this is his first time using the led's & also his first time using a waterfarm so there is still much to be done neither of us know much about led's we are pretty much learning from you he is running 8 plants 6- pinkpanties & 2 sour cookies were getting ready to take a trip to see these people www.medicinalorganic.com he wants sunset sherbet (pinkpanties-X- platinum gsc) & I'm wanting gg#4 after seeing his grow I'm really wanting a vipar possibly the 600 or the one you're running try clicking on the www.medicinalorganic.com link it should take you there

Looks really really good, can't wait to see them over next couple of weeks.

I just picked up an LED myself. How far have you been keeping the light from the canopy? Are they 3w or 5w diodes or something else?

Hello everyone, and welcome to my first grow journal here at RIU.

I've been growing for about 7 years now, first as a patient in California, and now for recreation in Oregon. I've been following LED technology for about 3 years or so. After reaching a plateau of 8 oz per harvest with my old 400w HID set up, I finally decided to see what all of the LED hype was about.

The Strains: 3 clones of OG and one of Gorilla Glue #4. All planted in 4 gallon RootTrapper air pots.

The Environment: Simple closet set up... One wall mounted fan, one smaller clip fan, and a scrog screen with inner dimensions of roughly 18x32" using jute twine for the grid. With the addition of some moderate FIM'ing.

The Light: After much debate I decided to go with the ViparSpectra 900w Reflector Series LED panel. There were two different 900w models, and I decided to go with the older model as the design fits my ScrOG perfectly. The light uses 180 x 5w LED's, and from the various reviews I've read, draws around 425-450w at the wall. My hopes are, with this light is that I'll be able to double the yield of my old HPS set up.

The Soil: It's an organic super soil from Better Urban Dirt, funny enough with the acronym of B.U.D. They're a company based out of Salem, OR, and I must say it's pretty awesome stuff! They have a few different lines of soil, I go with the premium and it sometimes, can be a little hot for clones, though, whenever I've cloned directly into the soil, I've had a 100% success rate, and the plants loved it. The only thing that gets added is some washed white sand to keep the top layer of soil more dry than the rest, which helps to prevent those pesky little fungus gnats from taking a liking to the soil.

Nutrients: None, LOL! Just good 'ol organic, un-sulfured molasses to keep those microbes nice and happy!
I just read the first post and had to jump in before I finished. I'm thinking about replacing 3k hps with 3, 900 watt led panels and scrogging a 4.5x13 space so this is of great interest to me. I also see craigslist ads for better urban dirt weekly and live right outside of Salem. I'm off to read the rest but I'm subbed for sure. I've got to get out of the outdoor section sometimes. Even though the lights are off right now. I should keep up to date.

Congrats on picking up an LED! I've been pretty happy with the results so far. :)

The light uses 5w diodes, and I've been keeping the light about 18" from the top of the canopy.

The BUD soil is pretty awesome stuff, though, I'd suggest amending it with a little blood meal, for plants that like a bit more nitrogen later in flower.

Here we are at day 37 of flower. Going to give the indica dominant clone a very small dose of bloodmeal added into the molasses watering today to try and extend her life cycle a bit, as she's looking to finish earlier than the other three clones. Also, this will be their last day of the molasses regiment and will be getting water only from here on out, and I've pulled the light back to 23" above the canopy. :)

I was considering the 600 but after seeing your 900 at work I think I'll spend the extra money for the one you have I know this is your first round but it looks like you're gonna do good so I gotta question....do you think this light has the capability to produce a 1lb. harvest with a decent strain such as chemdawg, sour' or an og cross I know a big bud or something like it could very well accomplish that but no one wants the stuff gg#4 might be the plant to accomplish it as well your light probably consumes about the same amount of power my 400hps does but I can already tell puts out way more light I'll be working with a 4x6 room but actually only using 4x4 as grow area directly under the light I'm thinking a 3.5x3.5 scrog & 2-waterfarms very similar to what I'm using now

Personally, I think two plants with about 6 weeks of veg will yeild you a pound for sure. I'm thinking this harvest is only going to be 8 - 10 oz due to having too many plants with too little veg time. And, yeah, the manufacturer says 418 and a couple of reviews I read say close to 425 actual draw, but as far as overall intensity/footprint of the light this thing is kicking the pants off of my 400w HID setup. I think your 3x5^2 scrog idea is great! I'd suggest going with the more square model and it'd work beautifully!

My next run I'm going to stick with two GG#4's the structure is amazing, and the smell is mouth watering. One thing is for sure though, I'll be amending the soil a bit for them next time with blood and bone meal, as they're little nutrient vampires lol!
