Even uv-b producing more THC or thcV really, I don't entirely agree with. More data is needed from lab testing imho. We are short on that end of the stick.

Sides by sides as well, I think are poor predictors of the type of results we are looking as well. I know they are poor predictors. Especially if you believe in something like 20% genetics/80% environment. Clones of the same "pheno" will be different right next to each other in chemical profiles. That is the one of the only thing thing "known" at this point.
Side by sides are useless without a control and the "control" mechanism itself isn't even in place either. See what's happening?......

It is this arrogant bullshit attitude in this forum that is the problem. Maybe I don't want to google everything and would rather strike up the discussion with the hopes that others would open up a bit and share what they know.

fine but you don't give any details of the light that is producing the disco effect. without that we can't tell you what would be better. I know of several factors that make a huge difference.

- proximity of the diodes, closely spaced is better, like less than a couple of mm apart.
- diffusing lenses
- wide spreading lenses and reflectors
- full overlap of point sources

try the following to eliminate the disco effect
- pack single diodes together as close as possible.
- use a tight focusing reflector.
- use a 120 degree spreading lens with a diffusion surface.

or even simpler
use warm white cobs which packs the diodes close together, has a built in diffusion surface and magically produces a smooth gradient of different wavelengths

Ok bro...let's get real about what just happened and how google was never brought into this till AFTER twist gave you the answer in conversation form with no google reference. You said that's wrong because you didn't understand it. You were told you to google it to understand it....not that google is the first place to get the answer. Yet he did give a full explanation(quoted further down) so you never had to go to google...but being that you never understood it...you still need to use google.

The phenomenon you are seeing is due to the fact that light travels in a straight line. The light is passing through a really small hole in your tent that kinda focusses the light, and projects an inverted image. This is not the same as what the plants will "see".

The only thing I am going to add to this discussion is to remember that many of the people coming here are truly "Medical" users and it is going to be common for someone to overlook something, skip all over the fucking place, or just take multiple passes to finally have a theory, concept, or information fully understood. Everyone needs to understand that and many of the blow ups in this section would be avoided to begin with.

I see this as where shit got dirty myself. As one hit said if you can see it with your own eyes who is to say the plants aren't seeing it to a certain extent. Then the attitude.
I don't know either of you two but I see it's gotten a little out of control.
