Trump cherry picked data to make a point. What he said isn't a complete lie but misses the important fact that the overall trend is downward for the rate of violent crime for the past few decades. Public policy isn't made from a few headlines. Or at least good policy isn't.

The same guy who walked away with hundreds of millions and declared bankruptcy, leaving the city and bond holders who trusted him holding the bag, not to mention the people who were left holding the bag in the area because the neighborhood was torn up only to leave an aging shell of a casino in place after the bankruptcy.
