So lets see, only half of democrats (with turnout lower than Hillary's first bid) are running against new records for voter turnout, including about a quarter of the democratic voter base. They also don't turnout at nearly the rate white middle-Americans do. Without a gimmick like the first black president, voter turnout is going to hit the skids even harder. It's already down by 28% over 2008. Democrats failed to energize their base in the way that Republicans accidentally did this season, and they handed the election to Trump in doing so. It really could be worse, this could have been a Bush vs Clinton election, thank Trump for that at least.
