Im sorry it took me 3 days to get back to you.

So I'll start with the koolbloom question, as I have great exp with this product.

It is reccomended to start to use anywhere from week 4 -6 and finish with it.

I have tried every combo and the eralier the better for me.

I Reccomend seeing as you are almost in week six to switch to it asap.


Now as for when to harvest, by the looks of your plants they have about 3 weeks left and they are really gonna grow alot in the next three weeks.

But as always my true answer on when to harvest is:

Go to radioshack, buy the 4x jewelers scope, and start watching those trichromes intensly for a change to a amber color.

When they have ambered, and are mostly all amber( ~75% (the total amount of trichs ambering, not individualy), the plant is in my opinion ready for harvest.

What is the purpose of the Kool Bloom?
Is it for fattening the bud?
I use Top Max made by Bio Bizz aswell as Ionic - Bloom.
I didn't get the top Max until about 5 weeks into flowering
but am using it from the start on my other grows.

The koolbloom dry is used in conjunction with koolbloom liquid.

you use the liquid for the first 4 weeks, and the dry for the final 4.

Its is essentially the same thing as your top max, only it shouldnt be used until about week 4.

Thanks for the responses GG. The buds became huge since that picture, the short plant has about 50% red hairs, and the rest have about 20%.

Once i get a microscope and see that the tricombes are amber or cloudy on the short plant and a little less on the taller ones.. Should I harvest the short plant first? Or will it be okay if i wait until they are all ready and harvest at one time?...

Also, I read a lot about flushing, but only saw it for soil plants. Should I flush in my hydro setup? And if so, do I just empty the resivour and put fresh PHed water? And if so, should i start flushing now, since i have about 2 weeks left?

Finally, i'm preparing for drying, what method should I use and what materials would be best? I'd rather not dry in my flower room, because i have vegged plants that are waiting to be flowered. I dont have any other closet that I can dry in. What would you recommend? I have a decent amount of floor space available for lets say.. a large rubbermaid container or something?

When considering if flushing is something for you, i suggest you take a look at this link:

It explains alot about the flushing process and what it does to the plant, and also offers insight on why plants may not need flushing to have a good aroma/taste when consumed in smoking.

And yes Hydro plants can absolutely be flushed. Some even believe that only hydro plants should even be flushed, because of the chemical ferts used in hydro.

Personally I would choose to flush, but only for about 3-4 days at the end.


As for how to dry your plants, well one way you could go is to get like a plastic storage closet, not tub and hang dry them in total darkness with air movment around them but not on them.

The other possible way is to biuld a Bud dryer out of a rubbermaid type tub.

To be honest I have never built a bud dryer, and never plan to (I hope) as I am not a fan of speed dried buds, i am of the opinion that the more time the bud has to break down cholorphylls the better it will taste.

i agree with the flush. your almost there so you prolly wont have time for a full leach but you can def get a better product. when smoked the ash will be grey to white as opposed to black. dry and curing properly is just as important as growing so take care and be patient.

Here's one... from the empty growdans you can see that we were going to put a lot more plants in, but the clones weren't successful.. my fault, but no problem. Next cycle I will have a FULL room and I can't wait, but 10 plants in the cycle should be okay... What do you guys think of doing 2 cycles in the room? This first batch with 1 light, and then when the clones are ready, put them in as a 2nd batch with the other light?

perpetual cycle is the way to go. it makes harvesting a lot easier. i would suggest smaller plants. fresh rooted clones 7-10 nodes high will double maybe even tripple in size when flowerd. get lights closer. and make sure you are using h2o2 in your solution. do you have a ppm/ec meter and ph tester? what is your cloning method of choice? peace and happy growing -sk3tch3

After my first cycle is done, i'm planning on purchasing a PH tester and a PPM meter. I have not used h2o2 in my solution, but i do have bubblers. Is that sufficient enough? or should I add h2o2 as well, and what ratio?..


My current cloning method is to cut clones, stick in clone x and stick into the small grodans which go into a clone tray with a lid.

When I'm discussing "H2O2 50% grade", I'm talking about a product which is 50% pure H2O2 and 50% water.

H2O2 as found in pharmacies is usually 3%. 50% grade is found at hydroponics shops or chemical supply companies. 35% grade may also be used in hydroponics.

H2O2 is used in nutrient solutions, not sprayed on the plant. It kills mould fungi in the nutrient solution and in the rootmass.
