The disturbing truth, according to the FBI's most recent homicide statistics, is that the United States is in the wake of an epidemic of white-on-white crime. Back in 2011, the most recent year for which data is available, a staggering 83 percent of white murder victims were killed by fellow Caucasians.

Black on Black homicide has actually dropped from a high of 94% in the 1990s to 91.3% in 2012. This may not seem significant, until you realize that White on White homicide has risen during the same period.
In addition, if you listen to the likes of Fox News, Blacks are not only murdering each other, but they are killing off the White race in their spare time. However, statistics clearly show that while Blacks may be murdering each other, Whites are engaged in the same behavior.

Why oh why is no one commenting on the insanely high rate of of white on white murder? Bill O'Reilly? Joe Klein, of Time magazine, who devotes his whole column to write this week on black on black murder, in response to Ferguson? Anybody? Because bringing up the canard of black on black crime whenever a white man kills a black man is just how the right-wing—and apparently the mainstream—media rolls.

This is not to say that white people are inherently prone to violence. Most whites, obviously, manage to get through life without murdering anyone. And there are many countries full of white people — Norway, Iceland, France, Denmark, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom — where white people murder each other at a much lower rate than you see here in the United States. On the other hand, although people often see criminal behavior as a symptom of poverty, the quantity of murder committed by white people specifically in the United States casts some doubt on this. Per capita GDP is considerably higher here than in France — and the white population in America is considerably richer than the national average — and yet we have more white murderers.

Another disturbing and revelatory stat via Vox: 36 percent of those killed by whites are women, a far higher percentage than what you see with murderers who are black.

These alarming, and readily available, numbers seem to merit some more attention. Wonder why they're not getting any.

It's striking that President Obama, who's frequently found time to comment on the height of black men's waistlines, seems oblivious to this torrent of white killing. BLM is a good organization. They are taking the next step in standing up for blacks, since the previous step didn't work. The previous failed step by blacks was trusting the election process and promises of white politicians to give them the same opportunities afforded the majority of whites in America. And the success of BLM has shown that blacks are finally waking up and realizing they cannot trust white people to "look out for them". Because, of course, they can't. If blacks don't look out for themselves, no one will. At least not in numbers required for real change in this country.

Another praise I have of BLM is they don't advocate violence. And that gives them chance for success. They aren't naive, but they aren't violent either. And the longer they stay that way, the more chance they have of sustained success.

Like most knee-jerk people in this country, you assume my "middle of the road" remarks mean that I'm a stupid fucking racist. And that's the fucking problem.

Yes, I think if I was a white cop patrolling black neighborhoods, I'd be scared. And I think that would be at least be a little bit justified. Maybe more than just a little bit. And if the truth be known, a lot of white cops feel that way. But if they admit it, then they are stupid fucking racists, right?

Wrong.

Until we can be honest and state how we feel, we're NEVER going to get past the hatred between blacks and whites in this country.

Are some cops racist? Hell yes. Are some blacks racist? Hell yes.

And the sooner we can all admit our prejudices, stereotypical feelings, preconceived notions, etc., the quicker we'll work though this and find a solution.

That is, if we can get though the phase of dealing with people like you, who jump at the chance to condemn someone like me, who just wants honesty and to find a peaceful solution to an age-old problem: hating people who look different.

How about teaching your kids not to be violent assholes. Teach them not to start screaming at cops and flailing their hands around and reaching for shit. Seems like that would make them a little safer.
