yo bro,

My rig is 4 x cxb and 4x v29 with a uvb bulb and a 730 light out jawn.

It's about 550-600 dissipated watts @ 45% efficiency. The tech has improved since i built it but it's already too bright for my ~2 x 4' space.

I completely recommend DIY. You'll learn a lot, you can customize your rig to match your space perfectly. You can easily build a 500w lamp that emits more PAR as Mars 1000. Plus RIU is loaded with folks who have pioneered this shit and they are all about sharing latest tech and design ideas.

First rule of DIY is show a lot of initiative.

You'll love it. There is so much more good stuff now, better cobs and frames and sinks, kits and it's not crazy expensive to run a 60% efficient rig. That's like 2x the efficiency of HID.

I'm not saying that i would go over to mars full time,i will be having this has part has my full time set up just for cost wise ,its cost not much at all to run the mars grow.I'm a hps grower and will be un till something really special come's out,The answer to a few of the questions is the buds are all really nice and dense,that has really suprised me to be honest there solid.There is no need to start a war over what lights best lets keep our,hatred for isis and other fundamentalist groups,its just weed in the end guys,the bud that i took of to smoke,jut because i could not wait no longer,was just a joy to smoke.Hope all your grow's go well good luck,I go on the termination line on the wall of my rooms,hps led or t5,don't matter i have the line,so its bang on the plants,that is normally around 8/12 inch of the tops,more in the hps room,that room is wall to wall in bud towards the end same, has the tent,after about week 4 of flowering after the stretch i do have my lights higher just to give me a better,light coverage.any more questions bare with me and i try get back to you..Few photo's of the sample,i pretty good at estimating weight there will be around 4/5 oz when its cooked that is worth doing another to me its allowing me to try new strains i grow for oil ,and tend to stick to what works for me medically,so ,but not much higher ainch or two,this extra 4/5 oz will just be a extra smoke.The pineapple is one of the most crystal covered strains i have ever done,the smell is amazing,I will be sample tomorow,can't wait.2016-06-29 21.19.33.jpg 2016-06-29 21.19.43.jpg 2016-06-29 21.19.23.jpg

The bud's was dense dude,solid no give at all,i ripped every bottom off,so all the growth would be put into the top's though,These pictures was taken of my phone no macro shots just phone with flash,i may do macro when the job is dry,

I normally leave a small amount of growth on the bottoms just for extra hash,that i beat through bag's

A mars300 covers about a cubic foot of volume with "good" light.

The PPF fall off for horizontal spread is atrocious (as with all epistar diodes). They're good for whatever is directly under the light and that's it.

So a COB (not comparing, just wondering) has more lateral coverage then? I am probably going to bite the bullet here soon and build one :). I've seen some pretty impressive grows with Mars lights on here so the intrigue is always there :).

I'm on mars right now baby. Indica body stones over head trips anyday. My second real sample off these mars lights and I'm fucking baked. Now this is only a 4 week old bud sample from my smallest plant. Imagine what my heavy built huge fat cola plant in the back is going to hit like at week 9. I would post pics but this is tykes thread. Just glad I found a light that works for my little personal grows :bigjoint::blsmoke::blsmoke::blsmoke:
