. So the yields at the end of the day will be bigger if going hydro if you take time and add it to the equation so yup bigger yields quicker IMO. Hydro is not any harder than soil but that is again my opinion, you just need to be aware of a few things. Full on flooded root systems will need water cooling to get the full potential and not deal with root issues. As for DWC lots do it with great success and huge plants just not me lol. The issue with DWC is power IMO, if you lose power your plants drown pretty quick and I lose power so I run flood and drain, once the roots are established they can go for quite a time. Just keep looking at different systems and see what best suits you. And yes read lots and look at lots of journals. Again keeping water chilled is the key so perhaps drain to waste coco if you can't do the chilled water. Some have good results without the chiller but very few excell

Hempy looks pretty cool. Coco and perlite or just perlite? A 3 cubic ft bag of good organic soil locally is $22. I forget how much the local grow was for a big bag of perlite.
Na fuck that, my first grow was White Russian and it was actually one of the better GPM (if that means shit lol) grows I've done lol. I was expecting it to die every day lol.
I was just about to make the switch after a bad root rot thing but bit the bullet and installed a chiller but still may, seems less to worry about

Yes it is a trade off. It's a lot of work mixing nutes all the time too. The mosquito stuff in the soil and diatomecius earth are a great recommendation, because fungus gnats plauge the hempy buckets. Also, hydro is less forgiving and a small mistake could lead to a situation that will take a long time to recover from. Something like too high of temps in the root zone or a big ph fluctuation could pretty much be chatostrophic to your end crop.

Tupur and canna can't beat itI was going to buy a DWC set up on ebay that has 8 buckets and a control tank and reservior. The guy says his system is good in case you lose power that the plants are okay.
I am doing okay with soil but the soil is expensive and hate lugging it around plus looking for higher yield. Thanks for any suggestions.
Spider mites? You mean fungus gnats cuz spider mites live on the bottom of leaves not in the media
