I've never grown outdoors, but according to this my plants won't begin to flower until the end of September. I was expecting flowering to begin in about 2 weeks or so and to be harvesting at the end of October. According to this I won't be harvesting till December. Any info would be great. image.png

I'm near Sacramento. Thanks for the advice! I can't believe that there hasn't been clouds at all since I've been here. I never would've thought to get rain protection.

K yeah your harvest window will be wide open come October .......sometimes we get rains here right when our buds are nice and fat ...and bud and water don't mix obviously .......so if you can just get yourself a plan in place now just incase it's a wet late sep/oct all you need is clear plastic you can pull over them if it start to rain hard and remove easy when it stops. You don't have to do this but better safe than sorry ......and if there in pots you could obviously just slide em under a patio if that's possible. Good luck Happy growing

I still vote that Ca be divided in 3 Parts, North Cental and South... I mean, the Triangle is totally different than the bay, and both from LA/SD... so... yeah... Sacramento's having totally diff weather... NorCal, Growing Big Trees in the Big Trees ;-)

You don't seem to understand that they flower in the absence of light in the quantity of 10 hours or more. 14/10.

I always thought it was 12/12. Like I said I've never grown outdoors. A lot of posts on here will say that outdoor plants do flower when they have exactly less than 12 hours of light. Thanks for clearing that up.

I am in the area as well. Got any pics of your plants to share?

This is my GG#4. I did not plant these until July 27th so you could say I was a little late haha. That's why they're so small though. I got them just big enough to get into flowering.

The second picture the front one with the tomato cage is white fire, and behind it is the smallest but not least Girl Scout cookies. I'll be happy to get a couple ounces from each. I'm obviously expecting the GSC to be the smallest yield, but I would be happy with 6 ounces from all of them.

Nice. I live close to that area. I usually try to get my seed plants in the ground by 4/20 and my clones go out around mid May to June. Then flowering will begin very soon now. Most strains start flowering with 14 light or less per day. 12-12 just gives better and faster harvests for indoors. More energy efficient for when you are paying for light in a grow room. But outdoors nature will handle everything.

Your day was 13 hours 59 minutes today, and it will be 2 minutes 1 second shorter tomorrow. Strains vary, but a good rule of thumb is that 13 1/2 hours of daylight is the trigger for flower. You should have a little more time to veg, but not much. Weatherunderground is a good way to keep track of your daylight.

Good luck.
