Hand held electric trimmer

I love this... Not for me, but just in general, the concept.. cool...

For me, with a small grow... it is much like the large trimming machines... too much loss. From getting too close, which you will, an maybe even from running such a high rpm blade about, like a tiny super fan

I also trim very neat, clipping as many sugar leaves as I can, which would be harder with this, requiring a second pass manually, which almost defeats the purpose...

But if you don't mind some loss, especially at the beginning as you learn to use this, seems like a rad idea.

I thought the same way. But I also look at pounds every month and 2 full time jobs. It literally took me a few minutes to get the hang of it and it was so simple. Sat back with my feet up and just tapped each leave. The loss is much less than you would imagine. Unless you have Tourette's But going through it compared to the pile of hand trimmed stuff it's much better. Hand trimming sort of has to be done fairly quick unless you spend 2 hours an oz and like you said gone through again. I think it solved these problems. A perfect trim in minimum time.

Yeah at large quantities like that I can totally see it being much more useful and effective despite any loss... kinda like the machines... except those do a crap job and this def seems a more precision tool. I just grow for me, so it's only ounces at a time, and I like to save as much as I can for all it's uses ( smoking, hashing, making butter, extracts, etc)... li eI said I am way more neat than anyone else I know (in my trimming) and I imagine with something like... idk I'm kinda picturing a tall tray or short fish tank type looking thing... you're not losing that extra if it matters to you, as it does to me.

I love DIY! ... i just carved my own cherry pipe and built a simple vape circuit (just need to make the housing).

I have all the tools to make this too, so maybe i'll give it a shot just to test everything out

not yet... my phone's my main camera and the memory card crapped out, lost all the photos for my grow journal and it's corrupting everything I save on it... but I'll put some up in a journal and other posts soon (maybe later today).

I do agree with thumper...I understand that there is a learning curve to this, but I don't see how you could efficiently cut and save your trim. Don't get me wrong, I hate trimming for hours on top of hours, but I know where my trim is when I'm cutting.

Here's another thought... 90-deg elbow on dremel, get a 1-1.5 inch hole saw (depending on your preference), cut the teeth off the saw part and file it down, remove a bit of the side so trimmings can be ejected, drill through the drill, thread your cutting line through there and secure. That's basically the magic trimmer.

I like your idea but I'm wondering if there is an easy way to modify it so it isn't so messy? Maybe cut a taper on the end of line so it rips a smaller cut? Weed wacker line just seems too thick to me, maybe a thin wire line? I'd need some chain link gloves as I like to be baked when I trim and watching tv and smoking cigars. Can't see me not catching my hand every now and then! Anyway, cool cobble job, I dig it.
