autoflowering questions...

Hi gang,
I just received my seeds from Dr. chronic, and opted for the mixed bag of autoflowering seeds from Lowlife.

This is my first attempt at an auto flowring strain, and had a few questions i was hoping some of you could confirm for me.

1. from my understanding i set my light schedule to 18/6 right from the get go and dont need to change it at all.

2. plant will automatically switch from veg to flower when its biological clock tells it to, i don't need to induce flowering in any way.

3. at about what week does the plant usually switch to flowering?

4. With my traditional grows, my plants are usually in my grow cab for 6 weeks before i switch to flower, and they usually flower around week 8 or 9 for a total of 14-15 week grow period start to finish. How many weeks should I expect this one to go?

thanks in advance guys!

Auto flowering stains basically cut out the veg stage i think, as for how many weeks you should expect it to go for, i dunno for sure i plan on leaving my lowryder-2 for 9 weeks from sprout, hope that helps a bit.

You're basics are pretty much on the money.. They say that 20/4 is superior to 18/6 for most autos though.. Males should start to show sex at about 17-18 days, and females a few days after that.. Most experienced growers who have done autos tend to agree that the quoted growth periods are a bit shorter than ideal, and they let them grow an extra week or so..
At just under 3 weeks veg time, plus 6-7 weeks of flowering, you're looking at 70 days or so from the point the seedling rises from the soil, give or take as per personal preference..

I couldnt agree with born2killspam any more. I have found males show at 17 days and females at 20. I have always done 18/6 with no probs. 70 days is whats advertised, but normally they need an extra week. Its fun to watch them bud so fastly. I normally get about 2 O's dried from my ak's. I did just grow one that turned out a hermie!! 1st one though out of quite a few...so I guess shit happens.

dude check out my profile, and go to the autos posts i've done...
pretty much all the info you could need to deal with autos.
very easy plants that dont like excessive nutes, so go steady and finde a happy medium...ideal ratio seems to be build up to around 3/4 rec dose.
Dont feed unless nec until they show sex, yes around 17 for males 21+ for fem, as soon as flowering starts feed a diluted solution of bloom nutes prolly 1/4 dose to start, and add 1/6 or 1/8 grow type nutes...continue building bloom dose, and keep grow mutes at 1/6 1/8 dose.
molasses is beneficial too.

1. Correct. If heat/electricity use isn't an issue you can even go 20/4.
2. Correct.
3. Week 4.
4. Approximately 10 weeks total from seed.

Haven't started my first grow yet, but will be in less than 2 weeks. In the meantime, I been doing nothing but reading, reading, reading, and you seem to be pretty much on the money. 18/6 is cool, but 20/4 is said to be better. From what I've read, they should start flowering, automatically, around week 4, and just a little extra info, the general opinion seems to be they prefer little to no nutes. I'll be growing LR2 X AK47, and some White Dwarfs once I get started. Keep me posted on your grow. Would love to compare notes

I know LR's prefer 18/6 or 20/4 light cycles, but, you ever considered switching to 12/12 to induce flowering?

yeah, I've read that also. I've also been told that it induces flowering, so Poon could just switch to induce flowering, then jump back up to a 18/6 or a 20/4. Just a thought... If the plants aren't flowering yet, it might be worth a try...
