Left in veg for too long, tips on pruning please

Hey guys, i am not a fan of pruning or defoliation, the last thing i want to do is stress my plant 1 week into flowering but i have a couple of issues,
i left my plants in veg for a few days too long and they are starting to take over my 4x4x7 tent.
I'm beginning to think that i'm going to have to lollipop them to avoid humidity build up and mildew etc in the lower portion of the tent where there is dense foliage. Is this going to reduce my yield? Or should i just leave them alone?
Also does anyone remove the very bottom fan leaves on their plants?I'm having a nightmare watering my plants because i have to lift all the bottom fan leaves just to be able to pour the water in. Any opinions much appreciated.

Peace ✌:bigjoint:

Here is a photo to show what i mean about the bottom fan leaves, they literally cover the container making it almost impossible to water them.image.jpeg

using LST (if you have the room for it) and a good fan you can keep it that way and get enough air in and around the plant to avoid mold and such. If you do decide to prune, you can clone the cuts to offset your loss a little in the future... try to avoid cutting of the fan leaves, as those are key... see how much room lollipopping can get you. Then maybe light LST to open it up. Aside om that, check the soil every so often... I have similar issues (prob worse) and doing these things (except th lollipoping) I got rid of the problems.

thanks the replys, i like to hear as many opinions as possible so keep 'em coming!

cleaning up that bottom growth is a good idea it will never make anything anyway because it is in shade far from the light, use clean sharp scissors when you trim it up.
Even the huge fan leaves at the very bottom? I'm aware of lollipopping but it is the huge fan leaves covering the pot i'm unsure about...

Yes, even the huge fan leaves at the very bottom. I actually trim all those away when I flip. They'll drop off eventually and they make watering a PITA.

I woulda started bending stems weeks ago. Do that on your next grow. With this grow prune away enough underneath just to promote good air flow. Any way that's what I would do.

Yes remove them and any small spindly branches as well. Oops yes what somebody said :).

That was hard to watch, i'm sitting with my babies now, and i've selectively pruned one of them. Its so difficult but i really don't think i have a choice.. Since i switched them to 12/12 the humidity has been averaging 65-70% and maxing at about 75. If i dont lollipop i'm going to get mould / midew right?

You don't have to worry too much if you keep a fresh air flow in your tent. Mold needs both still air and high humidity to work. My humidity was as high as 80% during lights off no mold though.

Do you have a high CFM fan pulling the stale air out and bringing fresh air in?

I would at the very least get the lower growth. Dosen't produce tight buds anyway. Carful not to get carried away. My oldest plant was topped very late and I cut too many fan leaves she fills out the inner branches get full but won't grow out anymore. So it's important for proper growth to prune. At least to help plant maintain the proper nutrients. The plant will let you know. The leaves will start looking like it has burns but a quick clip and it will even out. But don't take off too much and the fan leaves are used to feed more sunlight. Cutting too many and the plant will have a hard time being efficient at absorbing sunlight to achive photosynthesis.

I guess there's some new trend, but I've never thought twice about trimming anything off the bottom of the plant. It's the first thing to fall off in flower and it really gets annoying to water. I would be uncomfortable with my humidity over 65% in flower. Overall, your plant looks great.
