More animal abuse from my neighbors

Ive done 5 yrs in state prison because i took control of a situation like this near where i live a few yrs ago. Im a mutt native american but i was taught RESPECT FOR ALL LIFE by my elders, i will not tolerate animals being abused in my presence.I see dogs especially as members of my family....my kids if you will. I will defend them like i would ANY member of my family. The more folks become akin to this mindset the less chance there will be animals will run into neglectful douchebags.
Yeah, man. I simply cannot comprehend why the fuck you would even buy/own a dog just to treat it like this..

@Padawanbater2 any update on the dog? Or the owners? What action did you take, if any?
A guy came out and took the pitbull that was constantly crying on the 4th of July. About a week after that they got a new German shepherd puppy that started doing the exact same thing. It was out there crying ALL DAY one day so I called again the next day and they sent out another technician. She came by after and said they had 48 hours to comply with the paperwork she gave them, I haven't heard (or seen) the puppy since, so I'm guessing they either got rid of it or put it inside or something. These people should not own animals.

The most fucked up thing I've learned throughout this ordeal is that it doesn't matter if you treat animals like this.. they can always just get another one if they come take one away. I told the operator this shit has been going on for years and if they could restrict or revoke their right to own animals since they obviously know fuck all about taking care of them and she said they couldn't do anything, someone will just have to keep calling and reporting it..

it's fucked up but true, and in many places, animal control are just thugs with guns.

i have a fenced yard, and 4 10-20 foot kennels and five acres (for the 'season', or for puppies). called about three stray pit mixes that were killing my chickens and attacking my fence, and AC came and tried to fine me for my animals (i was at work at the time). they said that if i couldn't be there to provide their paperwork, they'd have to shoot them because they couldn't safely enter the fence (two german shepherd dogs, two australian cattle dogs). i work over an hour from home, so i told them to wait and i'd be there. they told me they were going to shoot the dogs because they couldn't confirm rabies tags.

animal control can be just as bad as peta. i convinced them to leave and give me 24 hours to fax the vet records, and that was the end, but it could have been much worse.

keep in mind, fenced yard, multiple kiddie pools, 3 auto-feeders, 6 foot fence, plenty of shade and access to my workshop (concrete floor, awesome on hot days).

they never did a thing about the strays. two neighbors killed one each, the third was hit by a car.

and they call it 'the humane society'...

where do you live? if it's close enough, or i have people close, i or they will come get it.
Near Los Angeles, CA. I think it's pretty much taken care of at the moment, I haven't seen the dog in a few weeks, not even sure if it's still there to be honest.. But thanks for the help, I'll send you a PM if the situation changes

Wtf.. they're not "just animals" assholes, they're our fucking pets! Members of our family! Sounds like your dogs are well taken care of, that's ridiculous. Because of experiences like that, many people are probably put off from calling at all, leading to much more unnecessary suffering by helpless animals. Fuck.

they are all my children and all are indoor/outdoor. they stay outside if we're not home, but have full access when we are. i have 7 couches, 4 are designated 'dog only'. i have a couple 28g totes that serve as 'toy boxes', so they can get what they want any time, and i fully believe in auto feeders. no fighting or dominance, and they actually eat less because it's available 24 hours a day, they never get hungry.... and over 1000g of water...

i've got some cattledog rescue people out that way, but they rescue all breeds, and are affiliated with other breed specific rescues. we are networking the best we can ;)

Are you running a shelter or do you just really love dogs?

I'd like to see a picture of their kennel if that's cool with you, if not no prob at all

when i was younger i volunteered at shelters and rescues. i do not run one, but know many, and meet up a few times a year with some of the groups. i love dogs, and have four of my own. i used to raise cattle, hence the herding dogs, did a lot with gsd's in the navy, and still love the breed.

i'll post a pic if i get around to it, my phone cam is shit, and i'm not good with the dslr. also, the pens are empy, lol, neither of the girls are in heat atm, but you'd get the idea. tarp shaded, 100g child's pool in each. trying to give you a visualization. the pens are only for heat isolation (estrus) or puppies. otherwise they are empty with open doors, unless someone wants alone time and utilizes one of the dog houses.

my zoe (senior gsd) can make faces that emulate crying. usually if we have to go to town, or have to throw away her newly destroyed and discarded toy...
