Agreed heads will want whatever you show them as long as it looks decent. Local reggie market? You could pull 35day olds and they would fly out the door. #Theory
I'm speaking of intelligent and educated users of cannabis. We want cannabis when it's at peak perfection for human consumption. Cannabis has a completely different idea of when it's "done," and we don't want that kind of done.

This being my point, I can't count how many times in my 45 years of growing that I've reveged plants and re-flowered.

update on my curing: still a weird smell in the jars when opened, hard to describe, kinda like a chemically smell, tiny bit minty?
humidity now between 52% and 58% depending on the jar
i think where i fucked up was by not drying for long enough, too eager to get the stuff into jars and curing - lesson learned

Dry trim next round. Just try it.... you be the judge.

The one time I screwed up curing (by jarring too early and letting the humidity stay in the 80s) the bud got a funky ammonia-type smell and I ended up having to compost the whole jar. "Hay" smell has never resulted in bad bud for me. It goes away and the weed smell comes back with proper time in the jar.

no mold - they werent jarred above 70% - i made sure to take them out of jars at the start till the humidity went down

hi
have all my weed in sealed jars - hygrometer inside reads 63% so should i just leave them sealed for a few days and then open?
the weed smell still isnt there yet, smells like hay kinda, stems are quite stiff but not cracking
Smells like hay because you did not have the correct temp and humidity in your dry room with a long 7-10 day slow dry...
I trim wet most of the time, I follow the 7-10 day slow dry 68-72f temp with 55-60 humidity in my dry tent. My dry tent also has intake fans and exhaust fans to bring in fresh air, just a simple gently breeze. Cured all my buds for a minimum of 2 months and I've never had that "HAY" smell EVER.... Always smells wonderful!!

Follow this Humidity/Temp calculator when drying to avoid chances of mold...

I pull all the fan leaves off that don't have trics at least an inch up the leaf while it's wet. the rest I wait till it's dry enough to flake off the last 2 batches I harvested took 5 and 7 days to dry enough to do that I then put it in either jars with boveda 62 or if I feel the stems are still a little wet I'll throw it in a paper bag for a couple days. As far as losing trics from dry trimming just do everything over a trim bin and you will have some awesome full melt kief its my favorite part of growing
Paper bags are GREAT for drying. I hang fresh buds for a few days then bag em until they are ready for jars. Gotta have lots of stem still attached to stand them up in the bag.
