That will work. Soil is definitely easier to grow in the coco or hydro IMO. If you are going up to 10 gallon pots, i'm assuming you would be vegging longer for 3 weeks. That sounds more like a 2 month or longer veg, which is fine. If you are still trying to do a 3 week veg, then you might rethink going with a smaller size pot like a 5 or 7 gallon. Environment is really what you need to be thinking of. How am I going to cool my lights. What is my humidity, and do I need a dehumidifier. The concept of air exchange vs. a sealed room. Tent is nice, but a sealed room is what a home grower dreams of using IMO. SPL, above, listed a few things that you should go check out as well if you are interested in a sealed room.

I think if you spend 10k on a tent no matter what the lights, if you have the space for a sealed room, you will be kicking yourself in the ass around half way through your first grow.

For 10 grand i would build my own sealed 10x10 room. Titan powered regulator, 20lb tank, dehu, 4-6 air cooled air tight hoods with DE's using outside air cooling and a very simple recirculating intake/exhaust lung box for flower.

Agreed, its easy to build 10 rooms for $10k.

If you have never grown before then its best to do a practice run imho.

If you have no choice, then start small. Get a 4x4 tent and do a small run with an led or 600. Practice and learn the ropes, then if you still like it you will make room if you want it bad enough

I mean shit, im in the process moving from 2 4x5 cabs to a 10x10 room and so far im only up 770$..

That includes an 8k a/c, titan electronic analog c02 controller, filled 20lb tank, caulking,wood,deadener,few small cuts of drywall and some room accessories ect... It definetly helps to already have previous grow supplies though so im sure that room would have went into the 3-3.5k mark after lights and shit but it would KILL that tent

Okay that sounds good right there 4x4 tent then eventually upgrade. Any nutes you'd recommend for the soil grow? I would also want the get the height extension kit for the tent. Man seriously guys thanks a lot huge help.

Everyone probably has a preference of how to amend their soil, but when I do soil ( Indoor, I usually use coco) I'll either compost my own soil or do a FFOF/Happy Frog mix, then finish with some teas or a form of supersoil. For just starting off, it is probably easier to just get a basic soil line from any of the leading companies ie. botanicare, house and garden, general hydroponics, advanced nutrients, etc. Get a good EC/PH meter (look into a Hanna or Bluelab), and some neem oil / azomax for bugs. Lastly, I would read into as much about soil as you can. There are many different soil approaches and they all will depend on how you want to grow.

If you go with a grow kit, pre-setup, I would still get a good PH meter. The one they give you are more than likely crap. Can you elaborate a bit on why you were impressed? Did you see his final weight? When I was new, I walked in my buddies grow and was blown away. He wasn't a very good grower, lol.

Well when I went in he was running 7 phytomax 1000w with the current culture hydro system and he had all these fucking bad ass systems where he honestly really didn't have to do shit and the finished product was fucking crazy man. I mean I grow outdoor and I've seen some pretty nice indoor stuff but my god was his shit nice!!
As well ill be upgrading some of the stuff they give me from the set as well.

He room is crazy expensive man. My dad has always been that person if he does something he does he's research real good and fucking get all top of the line shit man. There's no way I can start like him lol
