I also checked on my girls that are drying in the other tent, and things are moving along with a nice slow drying. i don't have any fans on in the tent, other than my scrubber and extraction fan which should be exchanging the air which I have running on 1/2 speed. So my tent probably is exchanging the air about 2x per minute as the fan at full is a 440cfm, and my tent is only about 89 cubic feet, so at half speed that is 220 x 60/89 which is about 151 exchanges per hour or about 2x per minute.

I checked the RH inside the tent and it was sitting around 50% which is nearly ideal, but I wanted to slightly boost it up so I hung a wet hand towel in the tent from the ceiling, and about 1x per every other day I will douse the towel with water, and rehang it to add a slight wicking of moisture into the air.

Upon a gentle squeeze of the buds, they still have at least about 4-5 days or so of drying before they will be manicured and jarred. I did a visual inspection of the buds just to make sure no molds or anything were growing and so far everything looks great. The only thing I noticed is the bud size really shrunk quite a bit this run, and I'm not so sure I will be too happy with the overall yield, but again things may surprise me in the end. The smell is great though, and I like the look of the buds drying with the trimmed sugar leaf on them. I didn't manage to trim the last 2 plants as I just didn't have the motivation to do it over the weekend, and it wont be the first time I have dried the plants with fan leaves on, so no worries, just more work later :0

Update time!!!!

Well here is the final weigh in from the last harvest. I am actually pretty disappointed with the results of this last grow, and I think there are a few things that really contributed to my unfavorable results. The overall harvest was only 204.6g total or .51 grams/watt, which is my 2nd worst yield ever... I'm really disappointed :( I can not say its the lights at fault because there were a lot of issues with this grow as well as a few "firsts" that I tried and I am not happy with the results. The buds smell amazing, don't get me wrong, and are very frosty, but they also are very airy and light, not dense at all, and the yield is about 1/3 per plant as I usually get. I think some of the factors that caused this are :

-Not enough light, which I knew from the PAR readings
-too many different nutrients used, and not on a set schedule as well as trying new nutrients I've never used.
-I pulled all the fan leaves off/defoliated mid-late flowering which I think was the major cause of this yield decrease as it shocked the plants and took away their means to do photosythesis.
-a early-mid flowering foliar feeding which burned the crap out of the plants and pistils, and also stunted growth for about 1 week.
-too many plants in my tent, which caused overcrowding, and much shading.
-Plants were grown too tall for the total amount of plants in the tent... wasting a ton of energy getting the nutrients to the tops of the plants with little fan leaves to keep tugor pressure up.

So as you can see, quite a few setbacks and error on my part really screwed up this grow. I also think that my "excitement" for growing lately has not been there, as I've run the same strains for like 4 grows now and I only really like the tangie 3 and 5, black cherry soda, black diamond og and ogiesel. The harlequin is only there because its my only high CBD strain, and does have a unique taste but it is far from my favorite.

I also do not think I will be keeping tangie pheno #6 (the purple pheno) as it didn't purple this run, only the first 2 runs. The terpenes in #6 were no where near as good as the other 2 I kept, and the only reason I kept #6 was because of the purple coloring late flower as well as the bud structure and yield were actually good. But the terps and overall buds are just not worth keeping when I have 2 other phenos that are absolutely amazing. I don't think #6 will make the cut, even though I am still crossing it with my black cherry soda.

The black diamond og well wasn't impressive this run. It seemed to just have issues for the later half of flowering and never seemed to want to grow large, and the buds just stopped getting fatter around day 30 of flowering. I don't know why, but just not impressed with the yield at all this run, as i only got 19.1g off it. very poor. The smell is not really there, as it wasn't on the last grow, but later in curing comes out so I am curious how it will turn out. The buds are very dense, but very small but its a strong indica so it should last me a while as not much is needed if its the same as last run.
Black diamond OG: 19.1g

The Black Cherry Soda also came out really good this run. The smell is that of cherries, grapes and fruit punch and the buds are actually quite dense. Also its always been one of my highest yielding strains and again it holds that title of this grow comming in at around 31.9g beating out the others by a few grams. Still no where near impressive as this one can really stack weight as I have seen on other grows.
black cherry soda: 31.9g

The Harlequin, surprisingly put out a decent yield after giving me issues the whole grow. The last few weeks of flowering the buds really thicked up and have a ton of trichomes... also the terpenes in the harlequin are very interesting, it smells like a chemical, new carpet, hot rubber smell, sounds unppealing but actually is quite nice. Its a 1:1 CBD strain so this one is going to be my go to for pain management when needed.
Harlequin: 20.4g

The Tangie 3 and 5
also turned out to smell amazing, very very potent smelling, however the buds also were very airy, hardly any yield compared to other runs with it so not as impressed as I could be with it. The smell and terp profile though smells absolutely amazing and again it packs a very orange citrus punch

Tangie 3 22.9g

Tangie 5 27.4g

Now on a good note, the Ogiesel which still is one of my favorite strains I have, turned out absolutely amazing this run. The smell, looks and bud density are perfect and even though I haven't tried it yet, I can tell it is going to be a killer. Very strong smelling.
Ogiesel 28.2g total

I also am not happy with the Fire OG cut that I got. This one I recieved from those clone hacks that sold me a bunch of crap and even though it may be Fire OG, its nothing special, a poor yielder, terps and flavor just aren't as good as other og's I've run, and I haven't been happy with it for 3 runs now, so I think its also going to get cut from the future grows, but I also will be crossing it with the black cherry soda.
FIRE OG: 22.4g

Here are my total weights for all of my grows and G/w
Grow 1: 1000w HID (400w CMH + 600w HPS) Total yield 574g or .57 grams/watt
Grow 2: 1000w HID (400w CMH + 600w HPS) Total yield 547g or .55 grams/watt
Grow 3: 1000w HID (400w CMH + 600w HPS) No Yield Data (Powder Mildew took over)
Grow 4: 1000w HID (400w CMH + 600w HPS) Total yield 325g or .33 grams/watt
Grow 5: 580w (400w CMH + Mars II 400w) Total yield 245g or .42 grams/watt
Grow 6: 540w LED (3x Mars II 400/180w models) Total yield 308g or .57 grams/watt
Grow 7:>300w LED (2x Intelligent Gro, GEN1, 180w each on dimmer) Total yield 191g or .63 grams/watt
Grow 8: 540W LED (3x Intelligent Gro, GEN2, 180w draw each) Total yield 367g or .70 grams/watt
Grow 9: 494W LED (2x Advanced LED XTE300, 247w draw each), Total yield 391.4g or .79grams/watt
Grow 10: 750W LED (3x Advanced LED XTE300, 247w draw each, Total yield 475.1g or .63G/Watt
Grow 11 (2x Advanced LED first 30 days of flowering (247w each), 2x Budmaster COB-x-4 at 400w total) Total yield 327.7g or .81g/watt @ 400w, .65g/watt @500w)
Grow 12: 340W (2x Budmaster GOD-4, 170w draw each), Total yield 228g or .67 Grams/watt.
Grow 13 400w (2x Budmaster COB X 4, 200w each) Total yield 204.6g or .51 grams/watt

Well as far as this grow, its done, and it will provide me with some bud for the next few months while my seed project is underway and I will be starting my next grow soon running the budmaster Emerson panel. I really hope that next grow gets me back in the right direction as far as quality and yield because this last grow was far from my best, and I think I really need to put more "care" and "tlc" into it as over the last few months I just have not been as "excited" as usual. I think it will change with the upcomming seed project underway, as well as testing out the new BUDMASTER EMERSON FAR red panel so there are some new things to be excited about. I think its just my personality as I always max out 100% on things for a long time, get good at them and then just loose interest... I guess its just how my brain works... hopefully I can have some new strains soon with my seed project to run, as well as I can focus more on my grow this run. I promise the next one will be better. Also I want to mention that the poor yield and all was not due to the lights, as the 1st time I ran the COBs at 30 days into flowering, they produced the best gram/watt I have had yet, so it says a lot about their potential. I really do think they are good lights, and I will have to redeem myself in the upcomming grow. Oh well, have at least 8oz of smoke for the next few months to enjoy...

On a good note!!! Feminized Seed project update

Day 28 flowering (from the flip)

So the other day I noticed that when I moved my male black cherry soda, a poof of pollen came off the pollen sacks and I knew it was ready to pollinate the females. I cut one of the 3 main branches off the black cherry soda and rubbed it carefully on each of the buds of the female plants making sure that I saw pollen drop onto the flowers. This is probably the most messy way to do it since I'm sure pollen got all over the tent, but I will spray down the tent with water in a few days to deactivate any loose pollen, and I turned off all the fans to make sure that it didn't spread all over my room.

So moving forward to today. All of the female plants that had white pistils before being pollinated, now have turned orange. Every single bud (at least the tops) but also most of the lower bud nodes have turned orange which after doing some reading and asking a few people that are experienced, this is normal, and means that the pollen was received...how cool! built in pollen indicators! haha

So today I grabbed a sandwich bag, cut the remaining branches off the male Black cherry soda, sealed the bag around the stem and flicked the pollen sacks in the bag with my finger over and over. This seemed to knock a good portion of pollen into the bag as it coated all the sides and some even gathered in the bottom. I don't have any flour at the moment, so I will have to get some, but for now I put the pollen in the bag into my freezer, so that hopefully I might be able to use it in the future if it doesn't go bad. If not, I will have feminized seeds anyways so I will be able to remake a male, and most likely may keep the BCS going until all the plants are crossed with each other, and I have made feminized seed backcrosses of each one.

My excitement has returned

Here are the pics of the newly pollinated

UPDATE TIME!!!!! Title: Caught me Far Red handed!

haha! Hey everyone, I hope you all are enjoying your weekend. Well as planned, and somewhat not planned I have the new grow tent set up and plant in.. Things went smoothly for the most part, so lets get into the details.

The lights:
My original plan was to put 3 of the "4 module" budmaster lights into the tent, along with the new budmaster emerson far red panel. With the 3 "4 mod" panels, I was going to remove 2 of the modules, and make 1/2 COB, and 1/2 GOD panels, by swapping the module around. The goal was to get a blend of both white COB and "blurple" light together on each panel, however things didn't go quite as planned. I was in the process of unscrewing the lenses on the GOD panel, and for whatever reason, I could not get the screws out, a few came loose and were removed, but a few did not want to budge, and the screws seemed to strip very easily. So after trying to get the lenses off and successfully stripping a screw in each lens of the GOD panel, I decided I was frustrated and that I would improvise to get a similar effect.

So I decided to not swap the modules, and just use the "4 module panels" as is, so I hung the GOD 4 in the middle of the tent, and a COB 4 on each side of it. I switched on/off the lights one by one and they seemed to cover the entire tent somewhat, so even though not the particular blend I was looking for of COB/GOD, it still will work, and I will get to use both and see how they do together, as well as with the extra wattage how the plants will react. one task done

Then I was trying to figure out the best way to hang the all new Budmaster Emerson (Far red 730nm) LED so that it covered the entire tent, as well as fit since the other 3 lights pretty much covered the entire tent horizontally. I found the best was to hang it on the left side, on an angle which allowed for it to evenly cover all the plants with its Far Red lovelyness.

Since for this grow I will be testing out the flowering trigger effect with it, so I will be using the Emerson panel during flowering mostly, and letting it run 2 hours after lights out, but running a 14/10 flowering period. The theory is When Pr (phytochrome) absorbs a red photon, it rapidly changes into the active state of Pfr. When Pfr absorbs near infrared/far red light, it changes back to Pr. (inactive state). Pfr also will slowly change back into Pr, which occurs over the dark period. Over a long night, if the Pfr converts completely to Pr, then the plant will flower, however if the night is too short for all of the Pfr to convert to Pr, then the plant will stay in veg. This also happens if the night is interrupted, such as the Gas Lantern Routine (12-1).

So by using the Emerson LED at the end of each 14 hour day, this quickly will revert the phytochrome from PFr to PR, allowing for the plant to flower using 14 hours of daylight, which is what I intend on testing with this grow.

So now the plants:

So in my 3rd tent, I have had a copy of each of the plant strains that currently I have in veg. In total 8 plants were growing and they were: Black Cherry soda, Black Diamond OG, Ogiesel, Fire OG, Tangie #3, Tangie #5, Tangie #6 and Harlequin. Now after some debating over the last week, I decided that I really didn't like the Fire OG and the Tangie #6 as my goal is to have strains I absolutely love, and they just didn't do it for me. So after debating this back and forth I decided this was the end of the road for these 2 strains and they will not be making the cut for this next grow. I didn't want to make the same mistake and stuffing 8 plants into my tent as it really seems to do better with 6 allowing for more light distribution and a more open canopy so I culled those 2 strains today. ***I did cross both of these with my Black Cherry Soda in my seed project and currently do have them growing, so even though not as pure strain genetics, I will have crosses of them just to see what happens. I've run much better OG's in my past, so I plan on getting a new one soon, or getting a copy of GSC (thin mints) if I can find it again since I loved that strain. But for the time being we will focus on these 6 until my seed projects are done and I have feminized seeds of these 6 strains.

Now since they were in my 3rd tent, and I was using very little light, they grew really slow which was my goal, in order to allow time for the tent to be available, and so they didn't become rootbound before I could transplant them. So the timing was perfect as there was some root circling but not much. Now upon inspecting the girls, I noticed that I have a pretty bad Thrip problem, which I didn't even noticed since I don't check my 3rd tent too often. Not too worried as thrips seem pretty easy to take care of in veg, so I hit the plants 2 days ago with spinosad, some b1, and some SNS. I again sprayed them last night with the same formula, and so hopefully that eliminated the majority of them already, however I will continue to treat the plants for the next 2 weeks to make sure. I also did spray my seed project tent just as a precaution, however I didn't notice any thrip damage in there, so I think this tent was in the clear.

So today I took the plants from their 3 gallon plastic round pots and transplanted them to my 5 gallon square pots for their final resting place for this grow. I added some mycorrizae to the roots before adding the new soil, and then gave each pot 4 cups of plain r/o water to help ease any transplant stress.

I will give them another foliar spray of spinosad and SNS tonight when the lights come back on, just to kill any thrips that may have made it past the last to sprays, as well as any that might have came out after the transplant. I'm pretty sure that they will be gone within the next week if they aren't already. Spinosad works amazing on them. This is actually the first time I have had any pest issues in a while, so I was quite surprised, but luckily I already have all my management sprays ready.

So other than that, not much else to report as of now. I still need to take clones of these 6 plants, but I am going to wait until they grow a little larger, as well as adjust to their new soil, and I have confirmed the thrips are gone as well. I probably will take clones in about 1-2 weeks, and then depending on how large these girls grow, then I will flip them to flowering probably within the next 3 weeks. I won't be doing any more topping or training as I topped these plants 1-2x already, and I dont want them too bushy where they overcrowd the tent so we will see how this goes.

I also plan on working on a firm nutrient/feeding regiment which I haven't done yet, and since I just picked up the botanicare pro blend as of last grow, I will continue to use them.

So I plan on doing a 4 part feeding, alternating between botanicare and earthjuice every 2 weeks, and the weeks inbetween will be plain waterings and compost teas. So I basically will start as of now with plain water, then botanicare, then compost tea, then earthjuice, then repeat... I think that if I do this and see how it pans out by the next 2 grows I will determine if this schedule is my ideal, or if I should try something different.

Here are the pics from today. I took a photo with each light on, showing how it spreads, as well as all on together.

Day 33 flowering (from the flip) in my feminized seed project tent:

Well I couldn't be happier on how the feminized seed project is coming along. I checked today and looked closely at all the buds on each of the plants, and all of them are covered in maturing seeds. Some strains don't even have any bud and its pretty much all seeds, where others are about 1/2 bud and 1/2 seeds. I should have a nice plentiful seed stock to work with after this grow.

I am so happy that it all worked out so far, and making seeds is actually much easier than I had anticipated. I definitely look forward to finishing this one out and starting the next seed project.

Well not much else to report but here are the photos.

Update time!!!

Day 39 Flowering in my Feminized Seed Project tent.

So things are going really well in this tent and the buds are getting frostier and fatter, and the seeds each day seem to mature more and more as now some of the calyx's are splitting. I have to say I am surprised at how stinky they are this round as the tent is just full of skunky canna goodness. Really not much to report on as of today as not much changed other than routine feedings and such. The weather has been really hot lately in socal so I think it may have slightly slowed down growth and water usage as I haven't needed to water in a while and its been hard keeping my temps down below 90 with the outside temps even hotter. Luckilly by the time the lights go on and the sun starts setting they only have the high heat for a couple hours as it cools down outside.

Well not much else to report so here are some photos.

The Veg Tent: Day ??? (I don't track veg..) LOL

So this tent is also doing very well, even despite the heat wave we have had lately but water use has been slow as they are still getting used to their new soil. I also topped the girls about 2 days ago, as they were bushy but I figured I would top them at least this last time to really get more branching out if possible. I also have to make sure I have enough side branches that I can use for clones in a few weeks. I wish I had already taken them but the plants were still too small to do so, so I will wait another week or 2 and see how things look.

Other than that I haven't given them a feeding in about 3 or 4 days and they still are pretty moist so I will be leaving them be for a few more days to see how they do.

well not much else to report on: Here are some pics

Smoke Report!!!!

OGIESEL:

Well it only seems right to put ogiesel first since its one of my favorite strains I have. This round with the OGiesel, wow there were some nice chunky buds and they were actually quite dense this round as well. The smell is very very strong, like a skunky, og with a little fuel, lemon funk to it as well, and it perfectly represents the SFV OG and CHem roots with that funk and the skunky stank from the skunk roots too! Love this strain

Its a extremely strong indica, and this is why I love it. Its that night night sledgehammer followed by the sandman strain that after a few hits naps are so nice.. LOL

The inhale is extremely smooth, and the full terp profile is present and strong, very very sweet piney og taste at first that then is masked by a lemony skunk flavor and the inhale is pleasant and can be held in for a while. This one definitely came out strong this run, and I would say it rivals my last batch under the gods for flavor and smell. The COBs performed extremely well in the terp and taste category, very pleased with how the Ogiesel turned out.

Right now in my current grow, I am about 1 month or so into veg with these girls, and they are thriving. I had a little issue with thrips early on but have sprayed weekly with a blend of nutrients, bvitamins and spinosad along with some SNS and I haven't seen any leaf issues. I will continue to spray weekly for the next few weeks as a preventative measure just to make sure they are gone before flowering.

I plan on letting these girls go about another 3 weeks or so in veg, as I still have to clone each of the plants and make sure they root as well as I want them to get a fuller canopy and a little bit stronger of stems before we hit flowering.

Right now I have been feeding the girls about 1x per week as they are sucking up water, but not really fast yet as they were transplanted into larger pots about 2 weeks ago, and the root base is still developing. I have been rotating my feedings between compost teas, earthjuice teas, amendment feedings and botanicare feedings.

Other than that not much else right now to report on so here are some pics

Update time!!! Day 56 flowering (from the flip) on my feminized seed project!!!

Sorry for the delay of updates everyone, I've been fighting off a very severe ear infection which has left me drained lately, and not having any sick days to take off work and recover, its been delaying my recovery without proper rest to let my body heal. Luckily I am on 2 strong antibiotics which will wipe it out, but its taking some time...

I do have to say, I've been taking ibproffin to help reduce the swelling in my ears and reduce the pain, which works ok, but you know what works even better.... My harlequin from my last harvest. With the high CBD, within minutes of smoking a few hits, the ear pain is almost completely gone, where as the ibproffin usually takes a good half hour or so to set in, and reduces the pain, but the CBD in the harlequin works immediately! Happy to report that back to everyone!

So now to the seed project!

Well I haven't done much over the past few weeks with the ladies, as they have been maturing in bud form, as well as the seeds formation. I pulled a seed off the fire og plant today to take a look at it, and it definitely has a nice hard seed coat on it, and its starting to turn from green vegging material to a harder offwhite/brownish color which I know is signalling that the time is soon that they will be done. I'm guessing that it probably will be around day 65 or so when I pull them, so about another week and a half, but I am going to wait until the seeds are showing those tiger stripes and darker brown seed case, so I'm guessing within the next 2-3 weeks max these seeds will be done.

So as far as plant health, I haven't been too concerned with the discoloring leaves as it mostly looks like a Nitrogen deficiency so I have been just feeding them water, with added cal/mag. I overwatered them about 2 weeks ago so today they are getting their first watering since then, as the soil finally is drying out. The smell and trichome formation of the buds is amazing, even while making seeds which is pretty cool that I not only will have some seeds, but also some new bud to smoke. I'm not really going to worry about curing this batch since the goal was to make seeds and not for nice nugs, which most likely will end up as shake afterwords, so no biggy on curing... I have to read up on how to store seeds for longevity, and so far what I read is less than 10% oxygen is ideal, so I may have to look into getting a food sealer to seal them up until use with limited oxygen. I also may look into getting some of those dry packs that you find in vitamin bottles too, just to make sure that they don't have too much oxygen while being stored... I also read that typically seeds can last about 3 years without the risk of getting bad (if stored properly).

Well sorry if this post and update is a little jarbled, as I am on meds for my ear infection and still can only hear out of 1 ear which is throwing me off a little. But here are some picS!!!!

Everything looks great!

Where did you get the Tangie?
I ran Clementine and think he actual Tangie will be even better
The Tangie came from seeds that I was gifted from a grower buddy in norcal. He couldn't remember if it was just Tangie or something crossed and couldn't remember who gave them to him, as we were dabbing pretty heavy that day. He does know some of the folks at Dna so I'm guessing thats where they originated, but not 100% sure. I definitely know they are tangie as they have a extremely strong orange peel smell to them, and look like other tangies that I have run.

I popped 8 seeds, 6 were female and 2 hermied after showing female parts and from there I narrowed it down to my favorite 3. One was a pheno that turned purple late flowering and had great bud structure, but was not heavy with the terps (#6), One was a beautiful plant with perfect structure, and very strong garlicy/orange smell to it and very terpy when smoked, tastes like oranges or orange peels (#5), and the last had a very similar terp profile to #5, but the bud structure had very little leaves and very different shaped buds, almost all bud and no leafs which was awesome, and extremely frosty, same very strong orange terp profile #3. I decided to cull #6 after the 3rd run of the phenos as even though it was pretty and purple, with nice bud structure, the terps just didn't win me over. So I am breeding black cherry soda x #6 in this grow, but that will be the last of that pheno after my feminized seed project is complete. I still have a few of the original beans too, and now have all 3 crossed with black cherry soda. I also will be making feminized backcrossed seeds of the 2 remaning phenos...

If you were to google "icemud pheno hunt tangie" the actual grow where I have all 8 seeds going is online, but on a different forum. In the phenohunt grow, quite a difference in size, structure and terps acrossed the phenos. Some I should have kept as they had a buttery, caramel, orange sweet flavor... hopefully my couple original seeds have some of those in there left. :)

Ill look at your pheno hunt thread later.
I I found a pheno that had same terps as the one I ran in the Clementine, but was a true sativa I would run her more

Where did that black cherry soda come from? Is that the TGA pheno? Also by looking through your grow list you seem to be getting better results from leds? Is that correct? If so are you reducing your electricity or are you still running the same amount of watts total? Say you did a 600 watt hps on one grow. did you run half the watts in leds on next grow or was it the equivalent amount of leds to make 600 watts?
