Please stop saying vuah lah. It makes you look like such an ignorant fool.

The word you are looking for is voilà.

I have been ignoring your content for months, so sometimes threads read like this comic strip.

Which I prefer to reading your drivel.

In this case I decided to help. You're welcome Airwalker.
The only time you ever talk to me is to be an ass and say how stupid you think I am. So just don't reply to anything I say k? The fact that somebony spells something wrong is the only thing that will get you to post and call what ever they post "drivel" is fucking sad, you loser.

Ya know, if a lot of people come at you saying the same thing about your attitude, Occam's Razor says it very probably IS you.

From here, it looks like you can dish it but you can't take it. Neither of those is helpful.

It all starts with you; if you want people to be nice to you, be nice to them. EVERY time, ALL the time.

Frankly, @nogod_ nailed it.

The fact that you're calling me an idiot speaks volumes about your judgement.

Wish granted!

Dude i still dig your passion and your work ethic. Im still going to comment in your threads when i can. Fuck the dumb shit we're all gardeners. Keep working on your plant health and not your lamps and you'd be a top gardener. Not that your plants looked bad cuz they didn't they looked great. My advice, go bigger and start vending. Its fucking wide open out there!!!!!!

My question is what the heck is the best lens to get rid of my hot spot? Kb120? I go nude now but it seems the buds directly under the cobs can get hard if to close. Maybe a lens is in order.

I'll Google that! Tu!
Good luck, that answer was about the least helpful I've ever seen. Khatod makes literally hundreds of reflectors and lenses, and their website is not particularly user friendly.

Honestly, without asymmetrical lenses (which Khatod does make) some deep thinking, and real testing bare cobs are probably as good as you will get for easy uniformity.

That's what made this thread so interesting: http://rollitup.org/t/citizen-cobs-with-suplementation-ssl80.915583/

That guy is making lights with 3 or 4 cobs more uniform than 20 evenly spaced bare cobs over the same space, using custom asymmetric lenses. I'd expect other makers to crack that nut soon, but it hasn't been done by any DIYers yet as far as I know.

Hey Jorge, I sent Tom (@rxr2) an email asking about the availability of some of his products in the US and was told 2-3 weeks. That was about 3 weeks ago. Should be something available soon. I want some of those lenses!

The problem is spacing multiple chips in a grid fashion. People need to get out of the mentality of spacing a COB every sq ft.
People need to be working on chip layouts that reduce the differences in irradiance from 'center-to-edge' of the footprint. No special lenses or equipment necessary.

Just need some creative layouts, depending on # of chips.

No amount of creative spacing is going to let you make a fixture the size of commercial fixtures cover a 4x4 area uniformly without lens magic. And as far as DIY, I guess I'd say "prove it". I think more is better, evenly spaced. Maybe I'm just relying too much on common sense, which is often wrong.

Inside a tent with DIY, there might be a nerdy math way to figure out a way to have less cobs in the center, more towards the edges in a smooth progression to really even things out, but sans reflective walls you are always going to have drop off at the edges, and lots of light spread uniformly will make the nicest footprint. But thats a big fixture.

I've been thinking recently about a way to easily measure this. It shouldn't require par meters or anything like that. I think a good camera, wide angle lens, and being careful not to clip the highlights you could convert to a color map of intensity and really get a feel for what things look like. We don't care about absolute values, just what the optics are doing.
