@Blue Wizard , i used to use granulated garden lime. Not a lot, a cup or two per rubbermade tote or so. It releases slowly and kept my pH in the low 6 range. Plus it has electrolytes.

Lime is a source of calcium or calcium/magnesium depending on the type of lime.
It could make a difference in a food web style outdoor grow but lime by itself isnt enough for potted plants without liquid food or amendments
