Pretty much any organic soil without slow release fertilizers will do for cannabis if you're not too picky of a grower. A good place to buy lights at would be any store that sells either indoor gardening equipment or hydro garden supplies. If you can't find good lights in your area you may have to go to the internet to find out.

If you grow in doors some popular light choices are HPS/MH (Known as a HID) and usually people will grab a 400W or 600W for their efficiency. LED's are also a tempting choice but do a lot of research before you buy or look into making your own (COB) and go from there.

If you find yourself tempted by CFL's just go with T5's there is a user on this site @RM3 you can check out his grows he uses T5 lights and they look like real good plants.

Thanx for the reply, i havebdone a few grows already and a shit ton of reading but my main reason for asking this was for actual names of the pre made soils in nz aswel as the names of the places to buy indoor stuff. My grows ive done have only ever been in too soil mixed with compost and perlite but id like to find out what soils i can buy pre made from local stores

Hey bro. Any of the "potting" soils will work fine, but I would go with terrazilla from hyalite if you can. Or gro from easygrow. I had the least amount of gnats from them.

All in all I would recommend you build your own rdwc, its so much better than soil and if you ask me easier.

As for planting outside. Wait till the last frost and it depends on how big you want them. Of you plant in sept/oct you will have a pretty big plant come harvest.

Yea, a popular one is Fox Farms Ocean Forest. If you want you can try out MG Nature's Care which is an organic potting soil from Miracle Gro. I'm using it right now with pretty good results.

If they aren't available locally then you should be able to order them off the internet.
lol..damn expensive potting mix if you include freight.

Passing bio security could be a huge issue. And would not be worth the huge fines i dont think,

Im guessing from your reply that you havent seen it here? Most of these types of companies operate under lcence in diff countries and mix in that country, Saves on the huge freight costs and the bio security issue. (Beer companies do the same as freight is a killer)

Any home improvement center with a gardening section will have the organic soil you need that is similar to the ones I mentioned. There are hundreds of brands of soil out there and most of them are made of the same stuff, just read the back of them and find one that has a decent NPK value and has enough in it to allow you to transplant if you need to.

Look for hydro garden stores in your area, if there aren't any ordering on the internet might be your only option.

Are you in Nz by any vhance because all the soils i cn find in my local area have alot of slow release ferts, in fact i have never even seen a soil here that doesnt contain slow release unless i drive about 120km both ways to a bigger city which i cant do hence the reason i am asking kiwi growers what they use when theyre in my situation. I supose if i still cant find a good organic soil in my local stores then id have to order online but again as i mentioned i am not realy too keen on ordering this stuff and delivered to the same place the grows are taking place(theyre growing in soil at the moment that i picked the slow release out of)

You can get soil at bunnings or mitre ten. Dude its just pot. Its not some fancy plant that needs special soil. Any potting soil will work. The slow release fert is fine. You don't need any fancy expensive nutrients. I just use the budget shit from easygrow. I buy it in powder form and mix it up. So just get a bulk order online and you'll be fine.

Yes true it is called weed for a reason i spose but id still be keen to find out what the kiwi growers use from the common hardware stores in Nz. I have tried a few soils from them in the past and ended up getting these annoying worms that ate my seeds aswel as flies that hatched from the soil, unfortunetly time is a huge problem for me so if i want to do it i have to do it right then first time and not constantly stuff around with shitty soils. One thing i can get tho is peat moss, perlite and compost but in terms of making up ansoil of my own thats all i can find.

Best advice I can give is ditch the soil and go hydro.

Just build a rdwc setup. I have two 4 pod systems.
