Curing in Jars - week 1 - out of town 3 days

Hello! I'm just winding down my first grow and I'm ready to harvest. The problem is that during the first week of curing in the jars (after the dry hang) I am going to be out of town for 3 days. Any suggestions?? Should I just leave the jars slightly open?? I don't want to mess up 4 months of hard work!

I've read a little about them, can you explain how they would help?
Sure. Primarily these packs are used for storage and not a means to cure.
Boveda offers a 62% pack which is very preferable for cannabis storage. If you put one in a QT size jar it will suck any residual moisture in the air until the jar reaches 62% humidity. If you're only gone for 3 days this Boveda pack will prevent any mold growth.

When you get back continue the burping process, with or without the pack. I use the packs after drying and still use the burping method.

Unless you get the dry perfect before you leave, I would take the quality hit and just let them hang dry while I was gone.
Clean air, slow moving, 55% room humidity would be nice, difficult to set up in a rush though.

I'd much prefer hanging, fully dried cannabis, over wet cannabis in jars. Even a few RH% too high in the jars and you'll come back to garbage.

Had the guy experience with them, I'd probably recommend them. Since not, the BEST advice for them is to skip it and go the safest route.

Hopefully the OP has at least 2 brains cells, I'm sure they do or they wouldn't have asked the question. :)

Here is a simple way .... Brown bag them ... They will still breathe and it is able to release moisture. I placed a bag under the bed for 5 days prefering a " slow drying " and have been able to bottle at a more precise time.

I agree with this method, have been using this for many years and highly recommend.

I'm just going to hold off two days from harvesting, that way they'll hang dry for 7 days and then I can cure at that point once I'm back. I think that's safest. I think I can get the humidity into the 50s while I'm gone
