Hey fellow stoners
I know if you have auto flower seeds they can be on 24 hour light from seed to bloom. but what if I want to put on 12/12 from seed to bloom to keep plants on the smaller side because I'm not working with much room will they still auto flower and stay small?? Or will that stress them and turn them herm? I never worked with auto flowering seed don't know much about them. Any advice would help
Thanks

If you want them to stay short use LST training and keep a more blue spectrum light on them until the flowering stretch is finished.

12/12 won't harm them but most autos will need more light to produce anything worth mentioning, especially during veg. 18/6 is a nice balance and a good place to start.

I see, I'll just do 18/6 all the way through grow. far as LST I'm still practicing that I usually just keep lights close throughout grow to keep short and switch 12/12 a week early. I use mars hydro LEDs and CFLs so my lights don't burn plants. Can't wait to try auto flowering out I heard it only takes 10 weeks till harvest that's pretty dope.

i'm doing my first autos and 24/0 for me. more light, more growth, more buds.

i wouldn't switch to anything less than 18/6.
I would do 24/0 but electric bill might get kinda crazy lol
I may do like 18/6 for the first month then go 20/4 or something to harvest

i figure if i get half oz to oz more it will pay for the extra electric. maybe i'll switch it after this round?

If you want to keep autos compact you need to use as little dark periods as possible, it's the dark periods that cause excessive stem growth and stretch.

Autos grown 24/0 from seed tend to be under 3ft tall and packed with bud to the dirt.

I always run autos on either 18/6 or 20/4.

in a 3.5 gallon container my nirvana auto bubblelicious finished at 2 feet tall and had a dry weight of 1.5 oz of thick dense nugs.

In the 5 grows that I've done I have come to the conclussion the my personal favorite light schedule for autos is 20 on and 4 off.
