This is my first year going full blown water only no till. I added a little top dressing at the start of the season and fed one tea in veg. Haven't fed them in weeks. I'm anxious to see how the taste and quality compares to the average season where I pump them full of organic goodies.
Is everything still good and green at this stage without adding anything new? I'll have to trouble you for your recipe from the last season at some point if you don't mind? I'm doing a lot of looking into organics at the moment cause most easily available fertilizers where I am seem like they might be a bit harsh

I'll look for last years recipe. Everything is nice and lush still for this time of year. I'm surprised they aren't looking more hungry. I hope the buds fill in nicely. That will be the biggest test of success this season.

The main thing is keep pumping your soil full of organic matter. Compost, manure, and worm castings are crucial. Then alfalfa is another easy to find thing that I have used a lot of in my garden. Till it all in the first year then keep adding more as top dressing every year after that. I think the nitrogen fixing barley cover crop I did over the winter and spring was helpful too.

Good organic material to start is definitely one of the keys. Mine is a mix of local promix (peat with some local black soil), my own compost, earthworm castings, red volcanic rock gathered locally, neem cake pellets. Then it gets fed with water, water+fresh aloe, water+fresh coconut water, water+unsulphured bs molasses (minimal). I top dress with dead brown leaves and more recycled soil, compost. There are worms in every pot on my roof and they do the work. Only other thing they get would be fish hydroslate. theunconventionalfarmer.com has some good recipes and I have copies of teaming with microbes/nutrients if you want those

And dont forget to get yourself some LAB going.

I'm going to court against my ex today to hopefully finalize the restraining order against him. I never wanted it to come to this. Any dads out there, just know I would never keep my kids away from their dad if it wasn't a matter of their safety and well being. I never kept them from him until I found out he hurt another woman.

Should I give this aloe a go? I've got lots of fresh material.

You might be able to use double that, but a quarter cup should be a safe amount. I haven't pushed the dose higher than that to see what would happen.
