O.k so I just checked the p.h of my water and it is really high. It's like 7.8-8.4, anyway I was just wondering everthing I can use to lower my p.h.
I have read the little bit of info in the FAQ area but I was wondering if there is anything else. By the way i'm using soil....

Thanks

vinegar or lemon juice will work in a pinch. Use a drop at a time and recheck your ph. You'll eventually want to invest in proper ph adjustment products.

white distilled vinegar works too. but, your best bet is to go to walmart and get some ph up and ph down. it's not expensive.

yep you are just adjusting the ph with ph up and down.
They do not contain any other chemicals you have to pay extra for those.
I know they are jacked up.

Thanks...I know about all the chemicals and stuff I have had a pool for a while I just didn't know if the pool ph up and down would hurt or if I should go to a hydro shop..

sounds to me like there might be a bigger problem then the ph. how much do you have to use to bring your ph down? the reason i ask is cause when i moved into this house i live in now (well) i was having a hard time with the ph and it turned out that there was too much of something that stopping the ph from working effectively. do you have a ppm meter?

That is a score. I paid about $20 for the up, down, & dye. You even got a wall chart (i have to look at the color chart on the dye bottle which is mostly worn off from my hands being wet).

Don't leave water sitting still for a week. it will go stagnant unless aerated or moved about regularly. Use 3 day old water only. Once it's getting close to that week mark I throw my water away.
