i keep mine in the dark for 72 hrs right before chop. i give them just plain water for those 3 days. no need to pH it since they are about to die. i like to change it twice a day for those 3 days too.No plain water at all ,like the last one ?
I get it ,thanks for the info ,I will keep that in mind when I run out of that Flora Kleen . The 72 hours of dark is for a last minute boost for more trichomes or it matures them ?you only really need a good flush if you run a high ppm. the last 2 weeks i'm at 0.6 EC (300ppm roughly) which is very weak and no need to flush.
kinda a bit of both i think.I get it ,thanks for the info ,I will keep that in mind when I run out of that Flora Kleen . The 72 hours of dark is for a last minute boost for more trichomes or it matures them ?
When you say a 24 hour flush you meen 24 hrs of ph'd water + Flora Kleen ? And after that you make a new batch ? I'm a little lost and a bit stone ...as a new grower in dwc, you'll get tip burn at some point. the flora kleen would be great for that. dump your res, add pH'd water to 5.8 adn the flora kleen and give them a 24 hr flush.
that was the best advice i ever got for hydro. as soon as you see a problem, give them a 24hr flush and start back on lighter nutes.
i also do that when i switch from veg to bloom too. get rid of the veg nutes and get ready for the bloom nutes.
oh shit, i never thought about that. probably great at breaking nutrient lockout (with the kleen).as a new grower in dwc, you'll get tip burn at some point. the flora kleen would be great for that. dump your res, add pH'd water to 5.8 adn the flora kleen and give them a 24 hr flush.

Yea, you would want to basically replace the nutrient solution with a solution of just water and kleen. Think of it like... cleaning a bong with isopropyl- you're basically running a solvent through the plant to try and clean up any unused nutrients from the plants 'tubes'. Then after that you would put in a clean batch of nutrients to whatever strength/ratio you're targeting. When you say a 24 hour flush you meen 24 hrs of ph'd water + Flora Kleen ? Thanks man ,I get it .oh shit, i never thought about that. probably great at breaking nutrient lockout (with the kleen).

Or when you're getting ready to harvest, you do just the flush cycle. Getting rid of extra nutrients, but in this case you're not going to replace them with anything
I never saw it from that perspective ,and that's a good news . Forgiving for the newbie ,I'm loving more and more that DWC technique .The ability to flush and replace the nutrient solution in soilless is also one of the biggest advantages. If you ever screw something up nutrient-wise or the plant starts reacting harshly, you can just hit the "undo" button- flush the system and replace it with whatever target you're going for. Takes much longer with soil from what I hear
I have the advantage of having plenty of time for caring . I think with a full change of nute solution every week and good temp I shoud be OK . Very old house ,not isolated that much so the floor is cold . I should be able to put something under each bucket to isolate just enough to keep the solution at the right temp . Well that's the theory ...LOL !!!also still new, and pretty sure i killed my last attempt by not just... flushing and replacing the rez quick enough when i saw problems :\ so if you're industrious enough you can technically just trial-and-error your way out of most issues with rez changes (besides like... mites and root rot etc). I got lazy though in the end, let the plants get sick for too long, they killed off some roots, root rot took over, other stuff.... and that was it.
yep. let's say your ppm is 800 and you get tip burn. give them a 24 hr flush and then start back at maybe 500ppm.When you say a 24 hour flush you meen 24 hrs of ph'd water + Flora Kleen ? And after that you make a new batch ? I'm a little lost and a bit stone ...
yep. the kleen just speeds up the process vs just plain water.oh shit, i never thought about that. probably great at breaking nutrient lockout (with the kleen).
it can be forgiving but at the same time, shit can hit the fan quickly too. just have to be on top of things. but the growth rate is unbelievable. when you start seeing 2 inches of growth a day it will blow your mindI never saw it from that perspective ,and that's a good news .
