Ebb and Flow vs RDWC

I'm growing in similar size ebb and grow system in 10x5 tent with 12 buckets.
12 buckets can fit in 4x4 tent with no problem. But I don't think it worth to do that.(you need bigger res. to fill 12 buckets instead of 6 or 9)

I also veg plants with DWC. When everything is on point. It grow really fast.

I use chiller with ebb system keep res temp around 69F.
No chiller for Dwc, cuz i have two buckets running at the time. didn't know how to make it rdwc.

I'm planning for my new veg setup
@Airwalker16 it would be awesome if you can share some detail of your rdwc system

Cheers

Sure. What would you like to know?

Is it a top feed system? Pump from control bucket pump water to upper tube feed to each buckets, and your pump is is set in the water?
I build RDWC system like under current culture. Its hard for me to find connector to connect tubing and pump.
have leak after one run
Can I get those connector from ebay or amazon?

Really nice system. appreciate for your feedback

Yeah it's in the res, and splits on a wye to the first row of 3 on tees and the other 6 on 4 way splits.

Don't buy ANY kind. It needs to be Vinyl. Hydrofarm makes good shit. If you use the fittings I told you to from home depot, they're a bit larger than the I.d. of hydro farms tubing. So it helps to microwave water, then dip it in for a minute or two, then put it on the fitting. That's what I love about the vinyl. Once your cold water hits it, it shrinks TIGHT around the fittings. I have trouble pulling em off.

Once the ebb and flow system is dialed in and running...
It is nice to be able to leave on a vacation and come home to live, thriving plants.

That...is why I run ebb and flow.

Ive ran about everything and i havent seen plants as healthy as they are in flood drain with coco/perlite.

The thing with rdwc is how fast a problem effects your plants. You really need to monitor the grow all the time and check everything from top to bottom. With flood drain its very automated and low maintenance

Another thing is how many plants you want to run. Rdwc takes up a lot of space for 6 plants. With flood/drain you can run 20-40 plants sog style in a 4x4 space.

The most important but not likely to happen is you shouldnt have any flooding memories with flood/drain like you can with rdwc.

If you want to see the very top end of flood drain production have a look at jungleboyz on IG. They have huge warehouses full producing massive amounts of flowers like below.

Are they flooding that table then draining? What are the hose running to the plants? Water hoses and they flood it then drain the table?

What about Ebb and Flow with buckets? I know some of the top people swear by coco and perlite.

He's using a drip system. I'd guess those trays fill up with water too. I'd probably do f/d in a commercial set up as well. Easiest large scale solution.

The UCE18XL. No root bound lol I put them on bigger pots now.

Dude that (root bound) is almost criminal especially when you have that insane light setup.

Please post again because those plants should be AMAZING with those lights. Green as in green with envy.

The light setup looks almost fake like it was photo shopped. :peace:
