so if you cut the phosphor layer off a red led it would no longer be red ?that is the phosphor layer which gives the cob its color. if youre gonna peel it off just save yourself the trouble and buy 6500k cobs.
i cant imagine the spectrum youre left with after you peel off the phosphor is very ideal for growing plants
I did think does the colour make the light a certain colour, is that just for white cobs as I see mixed colour units normally have a clear layer and then you can see the colour of each chip I assumed that layer was just to stop water and dirty and blend the leds together better
I guess it could have something to do with the light production just I`ve seen a few vids of people cutting that layer away and using the cobs
I assumed they did it to get more uv or IR or something
