A little update since I'm chopping the Berry White (and lone Lemon Skunk) in the Flower Cab today.

Had the first signs of Botrytis about a week ago (at <7 weeks). I managed to keep them going for another week by lowering the humidity. They are at 8 weeks today which is the earliest I've taken them, but the trichomes look pretty good and I can't afford to let them go any longer.

I'm happy enough with them considering ambient temps of 90f and RH of >70 with no AC budget. Before LEDs I was never previously able to run indoor through the summer, so that in itself is pretty awesome. In the future I will look into AC and dehumidify options when I have a bit more space/budget.

P1460457.jpg P1460464.jpg P1460475.jpg

The little flower tent is rocking along - have to use a screen in there to keep em down. It's only 3ft high so I'm always battling to stop them outgrowing the space lol. 3 weeks since I flipped these, and less than 2 weeks since I added the 730nm flower catalyst. All Berry White in here, since out of the 3 Sunshine Daydream seeds I popped; I got 1 dud and 2 males. To add insult to injury I just popped the rest of the pack this week and got all duds... most of them cracked, but then stalled out immediately. I think I need to improve my seed storage strategy.

And the next round of Berry White is pretty much ready to go into the flower Cab. There's a little bonsai mother in there, and then a couple clones that just rooted at the front.

I've been struggling terribly with Pytheum killing clones lately. Went from 100% success rate to maybe 10% lately lol. I guess it's the summer heat and humidity, but I also know I got kinda lazy with my cloning method. I never really used rooting hormones but I guess it might be time to bite the bullet there. I might go back to bubble cloning too.

Thanks for the comments and keep it green fellas. :bigjoint:

A little Sunday update in case anyone's interested.

The flower tent is at 29 days and doing ok. Just 3ft vertical space in here so it's quite a challenge flowering plants in here lol. It's meant to be used as a veg tent, but heyho! I added a Samsung hard strip down the centre for this run, and it's really helped me spread the light out better. Now I can turn he COBs down a bit and get better spread and less intense hotspots. Double win :hump:

The flower Cab just got flipped yesterday so we're patiently waiting for stuff to happen right now. I turned the Far Reds off for the first week of flower this time... Feel like I always end up with more stretch than I want with this plant, so I'm trying to limit that this time.

I'm hoping the safety police don't come after me for my flagrant disregard for human life leaving my fixture as it is lol. Before anyone asks... no I have not checked the serial numbers of my Meanwell drivers haha :bigjoint:

P1460497.jpg P1460500.jpg

And these little fellas are just now starting their way in the world... all precocious and full of wonderment, bless 'em. Got some clones of Berry White in there and I popped a couple new beans - some unknown freebies and a gifted Blue Widow. It is supposedly the same parentage as my Berry White, but from a different breeder, so that could either be really interesting or really boring. Time will tell.

Nice man. COBs and Blumats, seems like an awesome combo. I need to replace a slip union and some nipples and my pressurized system will be up and running.

Cheers dude :bigjoint: Yeah COBs and Blumats both changed my life lol... things are so much easier than they used to be. I'm not sure about the slip union and the nipples tho... that sounds like some kinky shit.

very slick grow

what temps/humidity are you dealing with there?
Thanks a lot brother, I appreciate the words :)

I'm dealing with 87-90C ambient temps through the summer, and RH that very rarely gets below 70% lol. I normally try to keep around 85C at the canopy, and I use my very expensive house AC to bring the humidity down a little bit right before harvest to try and combat the dreaded Botrytis.

It's a constant battle trying to maximise light to the canopy whilst managing temps. I dream of a controller that will dim the lights for me according to canopy temp, but it seems that's not available to buy right now. Anyway hopefully in the future I won't have to grow so micro/stealth anymore, and then things will be different. Cheers

Just a little update for the good folks of RIU

P1460510.jpg P1460520.jpg P1460532.jpg

As you can see the little 3ft flower tent is ticking along nicely, but slowly, at 37 days since flip. I feel like it's a week behind where it would normally be at this stage, and I put that down to not having the far reds in there until around the 2nd or 3rd week (stoner memory). It also seems a little leafier than normal and I put that down to running a lot of 5000K in there at the start of flower - I was trying to really limit the stretch this time. Anyway the buds look frosty and tasty just not so dense. It is still crazy hot and humid here, so that really doesn't help the bud density either.

P1460527.jpg

Now the flower cab is a different story! These babies are throwing out buds already at day 10 and filling the space nicely. That's 4x Berry White clone in there, down from 8 last run. I am definitely leaning more towards longer veg and less plants lately. Tons of budsites on these sexy ladies and now I just gotta fatten them up. :weed:

Despite what I said in an earlier post I did run the Far Reds almost from the start of flower (started 1 day late) and it really makes a difference in flower onset. I also experimented with gradually reducing lighting hours down from 18-12 instead of just going abruptly from one to the other and I'm pretty sure that also helped early flower onset this time round.

P1460509.jpg

As you can see my tiny little veg space gets pretty fckn hot lol. Unfortunately there's no way to really exhaust this space without damaging the fitted closet and I cannot do that, so I have to just keep the door open instead. The plants don't love it, but they do seem to handle it. There's some Berry White clones at various stages of rooting and a couple new starts in there, with the Berry White bonsai mom behind. I always seem to have an issue with my moms and clones getting really red/purple stems and growing super slow at the start. I'm sure they are deficient in something, but I have never been able to work out what. I find once they get onto full strength nutes the grow out of it so I'm trying to feed stronger sooner, but then I run the risk of burning them so I'm not sure what that's about. Some sort of lockout or something. Interestingly my local growbro just complained to me about the same problem, using the same soil (Sunshine Mix #4 small white bag), so I guess it's something to do with the soil. Maybe too heavy/wet at the start? I'm thinking to try adding more perlite next time. Advice welcomed :bigjoint: Cheers folks

Don't you dare resort to such drastic and ill-conceived measures. Surely you can just blame it on spellcheck? Lol.
Hahaha yeah bloody spellcheck - bane of my life! hehe

Actually I thought of you the other day cos I was having some trouble with one of my blumats... it had been swinging from bone dry to runaway after each tiny adjustment so I figured there must be a bit of an air bubble in that carrot. I finally got around to taking it out and checking it and the damn thing was bone dry inside lol.. not even a drop of water in there. Suffice to say I changed it out pretty quickly, but I was very surprised how it had managed to become empty so quick.

Hehe, yeah an empty carrot is no good at all. How are the blumats working for you, besides the one dried out carrot?

They are working great tbh dude - I could not live without them now I have got used to them - the amount of time I used to spend watering, and I only have a tiny little garden! I only run very small Res with them at the moment, but when I have bigger runoff tray capacity I will move up to bigger Res and have to refill even less frequently. Blumats FTW!
