Best water I have comes out the RO filter, but I hear you!I've been using reclaim water from my dehuey for years, it's the best water you have.
You say your dehuey unit makes 5 gallons a day. Use it every day and nasties won't get the chance to build up in it.Best water I have comes out the RO filter, but I hear you!
Do you bleach or H2O2 before topping off? Surely anything could be in that water if its in the room atmos? I'm thinking specifically about unwanted spores etc.
Of course the slime in my drum could've come from anywhere, but for now i'm just tossing the dehu water on my outdoor plants. Lets see how this new res goes.
I have. Always registers some ppm's - can't remember off the top of my head. RO is always 0ppm.You say your dehuey unit makes 5 gallons a day. Use it every day and nasties won't get the chance to build up in it.
Think your RO is cleaner? Dip your EC pen and see for yourself.
Maybe mine isn't quite as sensitive as yours, but I get the opposite result.I have. Always registers some ppm's - can't remember off the top of my head. RO is always 0ppm.
Dark stains in the bottom of the dehu tank. Easily cleaned. It runs 24/7 and is brand new.
Yes that's definitely the ambition.Maybe mine isn't quite as sensitive as yours, but I get the opposite result.
I make a lot of reclaim water as a byproduct of growing trees and I'm glad I can recycle it as it really cuts down on water consumption.
Surely H2O2 would kill Hydroguard bacteria when mixed in the same res before it reaches any roots??you dont have to worry about adding h2o and messing with the hydroguard
once the hydroguard hots the roots it innoculates them....and begins to grow
everything will be fine
I am glad everything is lookin so much better
IMO.....coco is the best media
I have always had amazing results in coco
good job man
No, because H2O2 breaks down quickly; stir some into your reclaim tank- if you feel the need, I don't- and then let it stand for thirty minutes and you'll be fine.Surely H2O2 would kill Hydroguard bacteria when mixed in the same res before it reaches any roots??
PS yes I will feel better about treating the reclaim water with a dash of H2O2 before reusing! No, because H2O2 breaks down quickly; stir some into your reclaim tank- if you feel the need, I don't- and then let it stand for thirty minutes and you'll be fine.
this entirely depends on how you are gonna go about "reservoir management"So i'm pulling 5gal from the dehu, the girls are springing up and the pots are drying through pretty quick, with roots pushing through the pot base before getting themselves air pruned. We're getting through water pretty good now.
With room humidity at around 55% i'm thinking the plants at this stage might benefit from stepping up to two floods per day. I've been flooding at lights on 8am every day this week, and just now this evening I manually flooded for a trial of a 'supper feed'.
I'll check on them in the AM ahead of their breakfast and probably repeat this manually again tomorrow night before programming this second flood into the timer. I feel I should be up to two floods per day at this stage anyways.
Question: when draining back into the res after a flood, can this be treated with any degree of accuracy like runoff? In other words, if the drain EC reads lower then what I flooded in, then the feed needs to be increased? Or does it not work this way with E&F? Can't seem to find a straight answer on this but it seems feasible to me.
I've gone with 1.3EC the past 48hrs since res change and it has come back the same after flooding, which by the above logic means the feed is right on point. Whilst not impossible, I do find that hard to believe, what with all the other shit i've had so far.
Flower room is next door, with 10ft ceilings. We're good! The plan was for 24" plants in veg with trying for 2 dozen cola tops each to best fill my scrog screens, 4 plants per light/screen.If that's your whole grow space you best be flipping tomorrow. They keep growing in bloom, yanno...
Sounds like a perpetual approach to me. I should know, I've been running them for years.Flower room is next door, with 10ft ceilings. We're good! The plan was for 24" plants in veg with trying for 2 dozen cola tops each to best fill my scrog screens, 4 plants per light/screen.
I have four lights in flower so going to fill 2 for 1 month then move the next lot over to the other two empty lights so I can move in waves. Not a perpetual plan but a cycle of sorts.
looking much betterReal proud of these girls for responding well to the changes. We have some nice plants going now and i'm a much happier farmer this week.
They love the added second flood so i've just programmed that in for 6pm. Will be adding back using treated reclaim water. Would love to be adding a third flood by the end of the next week and I will have learned so much more about what these strains will take in coco.
Planning to flip in a couple of weeks.
Most plants have been topped once or twice over the past month, a few have been LST'd and are nice and bushy. The Larry's are very leggy and I feel i've missed the chance to train for max flower coverage so may well just be cutting clones from these guys and going for a better run next time. I'm constantly bending the Larry tops back to allow the lower branches a chance to catch up - they are right up under the lights now.

I had wanted to run lower humidity in late flower together with dark period and drowning etc. I like what I've read about all these techniques but it would require 2 or more separate flower rooms. This is the perpetual I wanted.Sounds like a perpetual approach to me. I should know, I've been running them for years.
Yeah I've bumped Calmag to 5ml and might keep going 1ml a time until they say stop.looking much better
on some of the plants I see Ca and Mg def
Ca being the browning spots
Mg being the super purpling of the stems
overall lookin great from where you were 2 weeks ago
way to press on
depends on the coco and the strain you are runningYeah I've bumped Calmag to 5ml and might keep going 1ml a time until they say stop.
Is there a sweet spot for CaMg in coco??
