Will this work?

Looking for preferably a cob setup to veg and maintain a mother plant and grow 1 auto at a time. I've done a little research and grasp the basics of drivers and what not but not all that techy. I want to get my feet wet and keep cost low as well.

Shipping is high but the parts are fairly priced especially that driver!

Basically something cheaper than the cutter growmau5 kit. All I need to cover is about a 2×2 area. I'm turning the closet I originally setup to grow in a veg/auto closet since I got a tent. I just want to run one auto and keep a mother plant.

I just noticed, if you're planning on VEGGING a mom with this, do t use 2700k. Use 5000k.
If you plan in vegging AND flowering an auto, get 3500k.

So you need 2-3 Cobs, 3500k is good all rounder, if you want to Veg out, 5000k would be the go?

thats not the best match

the single driver solution will work but youre not using all of the drivers capacity

with a 1212 ideally youd set the voltage pot to limit it so when the current is cranked up it doesnt exceed the chip (driver tops out at 2.95A, chip at 2.76 ~ 100W.. those passive heatsinks top out at about 50W ea though, id go with the 1818 on an active light engine instead,:

1818 is a higher voltage chip and gets 150W out of the that driver, better for a 2x2. the light engine is not much more than the separate parts

i can delete the reflector for you so the 1818 light engine would be just under $60 vs the 26.50 chip + 23.50 heatsink+2.50 holder. less than $10 premium, and its assembled and runs 3x harder than a passive

So with the active heat sink 12v fan I could only run the single engine? The 185h could support the additional light engine?

good thing about the constant voltage you can run as many as you want, itjust splits out the current

120H: 1@ 2,95A, [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], etc.

What is the difference between the 120H model and 185H. Same 48v output what am missing here?
