Led gurus, need help

Alright three weeks of researching, 10 pages currently open on my phone, loosing sleep thinking about it etc..... FREKING LEDS MAN! Im more confused than ever and not very electronic minded.

I really want tl stick to LEDs for a number of reasons... But the more and more I dig, the worst making up my mind. I have a 3'x4' x8' fully sealed room. I have a platinum led 300 that I eagerly purchased. This is my first grow, but Im trying to do this grow room right. Make it perform and produce the best it can with the tech thats availaible. 2 small plants in a scrog set up.

My origional thought was use 3 p300s but im starting to hear that these might not be the best lights.

Do I want to be running 1000 watts of led in a 12 sqft section? Is there a better way about this.

Yield isnt as important as quailtiy of my meds:)

No none sense bs, whats the best led option. I know companies bebox and are crooks and criminals so what do I need to look for out of a LED system. I want to do this right and get the best quality I can.

Thanks in advance

Think in watts per square foot. A cob per sf works well with 1400ma for bloom and 1050ma for veg. That means12 cxb3590 with heat sinks etc. 3 mw hlg-185h-c1400b drivers 6" inline fan with a phresh philter and duct silencer some6" ducting and some timers and grow medium. Peace

400 - 500w of cob led should be plenty for that space. If you DIY consider these emitters: Cree CXB series, Citizen CLU series or the new Vero gen7. If you want to buy check here: https://www.rollitup.org/t/led-grow-light-companies-w-links.914717/page-6#post-12941690 under COB Grow Lights.

From my own offerings at Tasty LED I would suggest either 3 T2-2100s or 2 T3-2100s. :)

you should get a ecosunlite. they advertise here and have really great customer service. i have 2 in a 3 x 3 and they are the best lights ever
i have them connected with a a timer and they go on and off by themself

Thanks guys, lots to look up when I get off my 18 hour shift:)

Im not knocking big company brands as its no secret how sales and scams work. I really appreciate all the help. Im a carpenter by trade, ocd and love diy things ( you should see how overkill my grow room is that I built:)). Im just not a electric tech guy, barely operate this damn smart phone ;,). I'm just a guy trying to figure out how I can grow myself the best meds I can. Definitely will look up everybody's post:)

Really appreciate the lamens terms and model numbers haha. Thanks

Hate doing stuff twice, do it right the first time:) no matter the cost.... well to a extent hehe

can you please post a pic of that timer and maybe a link? I've never heard of such a device( technology is crazy these days)
me and @sixstring2112 seem to both be looking for a way to not have to turn lights on and off every 12 hours

When it comes to the latest and best LED/COB lights, you should be prepared to spend some coin. Lots of people are choosing to get kits that are ready-to-assemble. I use Timber Grow Lights, myself. I think they are a great company and I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with them. Check them out at http://www.timbergrowlights.com. They also build custom pre-fab lights, too, btw.

Or the mega would work better for your space.. Plus there is 15 % off right now on the website.. I got mine at 13% off.. They beat the other guys deal

Thanks again guys, leaning towards the timber grow, or just piecing together a kit.
You tube videos helped a shit ton last night. Pretty basic stuff just have to learn the term analogy:)

So the cxb3590 are the best as of now?
How many of these suckers do I want to cram in there? My goal is QUALITY, so more useable light the better right? How much is too much? Also spacing of the COB, whats the best spacing to creat the most even coverage?

So what I need-
- meanwell driver(s)
- (?) Cxb3590
- heatsinks (still looking up active vs non)
We travel for work, so more fail proof is always key for me.
-Angle to build my light frame and hardware.

So is it better to seal these light boxes, or leave them open to breath for themselves. Personally sealed makes sense just from moisture and condensation.

Is there things Im missing? Reflectors, crazy angle lenses, other essential hardware.

Thanks again

Actually, Potatoes treelover, just contact Dan at Timber Grow Lights ([email protected]) @RainDan and he can hook you up with all of that and save you a lot of frustration. You don't really need a sealed chassis....unless you plan on spraying water directly at your fixtures. Most moisture and condensation problems are abated by fans moving and refreshing the air. ~50% relative humidity and 75-85 degrees F is generally what you want in the growing area and that amount of RH shouldn't present any condensation problems at those temps with moving air. There have been a LOT of Timber Grow Light builds posted around this forum and you can check them out to see how others have done theirs -some incredible state-of-the-art ones!
