Production site liability insurance for medical grow ontario, canada

I found a landlord after sometime willing to allow me to rent for MM grow. Of course, some nonsense came up when we were about to sign, and he asked for me to get liability insurance. I had previously told him that I need only get insurance for a 'workshop' and I could operate under that umbrella; whether I grow tomatoes, fix cars, cut wood, is irrelevant. I even explained under the new laws if I rent it as my primary residence, I don't even have to tell him. Nonetheless he's asking it to be specifically insured for medical marijuana. I really don't feel comfortable giving a broker my production site address and having that information available to potentially thousands of individuals. I explain the confidentiality etc but we haven't reached an agreement. Anybody has any experience on the topic? Are they even offering this kind of insurance product in our market? I also don't want to be subjected to inspections of any sort. Any other of my landlords were totally cool, its road block after road block trying to grow your own meds.

Fuck it. Tell him you won't grow it anymore, as you have decided to get a DG. Then as soon as you move in, build your garden and light it up. If he ever decided to come do a property inspection (with notice of course) just leave it up and running.

He'll probably shit a brick and try and evict you, but like you had previously said, your rights as a patient trump his rights as a landlord.

I would only say try and be respectful to the house though. Take proper precautions, and try and keep it clean.

Edit....full disclosure.

I actually wouldn't do this, I'm just pissed off and in pain. I guess you technically have the right the way the current law is written, but it's a dick move and ultimately will cause a lot of fucking hassle in your life.

Doesn't even cover the cannabis. Just the contents that are surrounded by cannabis. Even went to tell me that a basic insurance policy covers medicine but not the living plants. I say it's a waste.
My broker says he's not making any friends in the Insurance broker industry. Legit brokers who know there is very little risk with mmj grows, currently have their hands tied by underwriters who are waiting to see what "legal" looks like. What Wilkin's is offering is far from any real protection for yourself, or your dwelling.
