I really don't see any other options besides moving away, going illegal, quitting, or having faith. It's either that or be illegal, which is the best choice if it's the only choice. Look, I'm not saying that you act like a stray dog and take what is given to you after, and only after, begging; being happy with that. The fight for decriminalization/legalization is definitely a cause that I support. However, that is exactly what those two concepts are: a fight. So this is how I see it (and please, inform me of something that I may be missing):
We are not yet free to go about as we please, sowing seeds to and fro.Yet, with medical, some people have grown a business or have totally alleviated themselves from paying for medicine (overhead excluded)
With the changing of the laws, some care givers may go out of business. Or they might change the laws completely and disallow for caregivers or home cultivation in general.
Given that you are a caretaker or a medical patient that does not use the dispensary, you have four options: quit, move to somewhere that you have your former rights, switch to the dispensary (not really applicable if you just lost your job as a caretaker), or go illegal.
That's it. Sure you can fight the fight for patients rights to be restored, but if they are already removed then we face the same problem as with the "fight for legalization" delima.
As far as I know, as long as caregivers are allowed to operate then dispensaries shouldn't be a problem. If people are switching to a dispensary and not going through a caretaker it is most likely for a reason. We know that they are not cheaper than a care giver, so the only other reasons to switch are quality or ease of access. Ultimately, isn't that better for the patient? This is medical, after all.
Again, please, let me know if I am missing something here.
