Is this normal for roots or are my babies gonna die?

I'm growing in a dwc, just added nutes Friday. Got up this morning and checked to roots, they have turned a reddish brownish color. I'm using gen hydro flora series. Is it just color stain from the nutes or am I in trouble. It's a 16 gallon res. Temps are good and the plants actually look beautiful.

not sure, a lot of nutes will discolor your roots, but i'd suggest running either some hydrogen peroxide or some chlorine through it just to make sure, better safe than sorry

Thanks for the speedy reply! I've done a bunch of research but I keep getting different numbers, you know how much h2o2 per gallon to add?

14 ml a gallon for the 3% stuff you get at the drug store is the max suggested dose, i know a couple of people who use 10 per gal for the first dose then twice a week add 5 per gal as a maintenance dosage, as it gets used up and neutralized fairly quickly

Thanks a bunch! I'm on this, just so happens I'm like most humans and have some o that good ol 3% laying around the house.

I use gh flora 3 part. It stains my roots. Idk about peroxide. Ive heard good and bad.

I use hydroguard because my res temps are a little high

Yeah that's what I was using. Is your color a nasty red brown? This is my first dwc so sure I'll be freaking out about every little thing that I suspect don't look right. I aint heard of hydrogaurd.

Yep. when I posted my last harvest a guy commented on my "root rot" lol.

Hydroguard isn't too expensive . I use 2ml per gal.

I don't know if it saved me because I've never run without it.

I can tell you that someone posted a research paper from a university and it was one of the few products that contained what it advertised
