Everything is dried, trimmed and smokeable. Altogether a little under 6 ozs which I thought it would be less from both plants suffering from root rot for most of flower. I could only imagine the outcome if the roots were happy the whole time. Had to toss the biggest buds from both plants as well from the bud rot but those days are over. Nice cool weather is upon us.

All in all the buds are solid and super triched up. Not sure if it was the 3500k or just these 2 crazy strains which are excellent btw. The Photon definitely shined through to the end. I will definitely be giving it another run in the spring. It's a work horse for sure!
These are the biggest and smallest buds I took out so you can see what I weigh.. anything smaller or larfier goes right into the hash bag.

Beautiful buds! The Blackdog Kush has a really nice color. Great job, even with the issues. Look forward to your next cycle with the light, that is to say if you decide to post here...
Thanks man! They are both great even before the cure. The Mango Sapphire is my favorite of the two so far. The jar almost smells like a pickle jar when you open it but then its smoke and taste is like an ancient og that you would smell coming from your dads room in 79'.

I'm content with how it went but it's always a bummer when problems arise in the grow space. Especially when space is limited. I'll post up here for sure. I have something special coming soon. Stay tuned!

They look great bro!

Do you know what caused the root rot?
Thank you! It was a combo of not letting the pots dry out coupled with temps near and in the 90's with humidity in the 80's.
A recipe for disaster.
The coco I've been using only has 30% perlite so I may pick up some big and chunky perlite to mix in for my next run.
I also started practicing what I preach with my current run and am adding 2 tbl spoons of hydrogen peroxide to each gallon of nutes. So far so good.

I was under the assumption you could feed/water more aggressively in coco which may be true for some but nothing is absolute for everyone. So I'm just feeding every 2 days to maybe 3 right now so I don't run into any issues plus the h202 should help keep the roots clean and oxygenated. I still have to be cautious because now the roots are cold and the pots will take a little longer to dry.

Were you feeding any microbial life? And what % H2O2 were you using? I've used a few tbsp of 3% with every third pure watering just as a precaution. But I also supplement with EWC, LAB, & Myco to feed the soil and boost microbial life. Wondering if a weak solution like that is beneficial or not with what I'm practicing. I am using some bottled organic nutes as I only became more knowledgeable of organic/probiotic growing after I started.

I wasn't feeding any microbes and as far as I know adding h202 on the regular in your situation would just kill off all microbial life. But doing as you said every 3rd watering may not hurt as long as you keep replenishing with microbes.

I dont get humidity like that here often, but I use Granular Diatomaceous earth instead of perlite now because it doesnt end up on top of the soil eventually

H2O2 will kill the good bennnies as well wont it?
I think I would either use a sanitizer (H2o2) or Mycos.

I dunno, I only used some once (3% solution/2tbsp to 1gal water). This was mainly because I was concerned with overwatering and root rot. But I don't think it's actually necessary for me to continue now. I have a better sense of dry pot weight vs. wet weight and they are drying out more quickly now.

Sorry, don't want to continue taking up space on NapalmD's post with this.

When I ran coco I needed to water like you do every couple of days running 3 gallon pots. It's very humid here in my area too. I could not imagine multiple times a day as some suggested to me lol........

If you have bigger plants and/or smaller volumes of soilless mix it can easily become necessary to water several times a day. Even in 5 gallon buckets I'm seriously considering an automated watering system to water twice a day.

I wonder if SIP (sub-irrigation pots)/ wicking beds would work well with a coconut medium? I have a pre-fab one that works great for my vegetable patch.

I've been doing it every watering/feed on my current grow with no ill effects so far but its only been 2 weeks. If I notice any burn I'll cut back to adding it every other feed. So far the growth has been great, whether the h202 has a role in that I can't say for sure.

I would also like to make the majority of my medium perlite next go round so I will be able to feed more often to see if it increases yield at all. It sounds like it will but I also feel like the plants will only take in what they need.
