Do I Need to Get New Soil?

so for all this soil amendment materials... kelp meal, crab shell, alfalfa meal, compost, worm castings, types of guano, gypsum, azomite, etc do they need to be bought at a hydro store or is there a cheaper option because I live in LA and the stores prices here hurt.
