Rigid/solid pipes vs acoustic ducting for sound proofing?

I'm building a grow closet with 2 compartments, one is a veg chamber/clone room, and I will be running a duct through it, down to the flower room. Will an acoustic flexible duct be more quiet than a rigid firm straight pipe/duct or what ever you call it?

I've heard conflicting things on both.

My noise went down switching to acoustic ducts from aluminum ducts. Same fans same diameter ect..
I also use 50mm butyl sound deadener on my inlines and ballast which helps.

Can you link me to some of that 50mm butyl thing?

NVM; found it, if it's this

think you would have to build it but it would be quiet air going through ruffle ducting makes noise that's why they put the insulation to quiet it

So you just place the inline fan on those? or wrap them in it?
any buzz or resonation from metal will be removed with sound deadener. You only need a few strips here and there for it to work, i have a few 2" x 4" strips on my inline fan and i cant tell if its running or not, i actually gotta feel the vents for pressure to see if its on. You'll see what i mean after you put a few strips on.

Now if you have noise from vent pressure thats a different story and will require a less restrictive vent or a vent with a bigger diameter just as bc is pointing out.

Sounds awesome, I'll see if I can find some in Europe! And, do you put them around the inline fan? Or below? Or what?
