quietest exhaust fan.?

I am going with venTech for now a 6" 440 cfm
I want a 6" 440 or better in the quietest model available.
What I found was 8" 780 cfm or so or 6" 350 cfm in these brands and my budget came in to play a little too. But for next time, who knows the quietest fan out there?

I have a air force 2 acoustic fan. Now known as isomax. They are not as quiet as some of the acoustic box fans available.
I think the 8" isomax is rated at 50db. Some of the acoustic box fans ae as low as 29db. If you go a size smaller they get louder to about 35db. The isomax is probably louder than the Solar & Palau but I suspect it has better pressure ratings. Never managed to find the db rating for S&P.
Best way to cut noise down for any fan is isolate it, insulate it, knock it up a size and use acoustic ducting.
Problem with fans and noise is they are 50hz and that frequency is hard to get rid of without adding lots of mass. So you can cut down the higher frequencies that you hear when in your grow room but its the low frequencies that travel and piss you off at night.

I just picked up one of these, it's impressive but not silent @ any speed past 40% or so.

you can also buy a good three speed fan that can work in small spaces (like the can fan max series pro) and put it inside of oversized acoustic ducting: http://newsite.canfilters.com/fans/max-fans/pro-series-fans.html

I checked with their tech section … nice fellas and they said their fans will work inside acoustic ducting. Ithink these fans are quite reasonable in the US.
