i'm a fair enough carpenter. i looked at materials, which most of us aren't lucky enough to just have lieing around. if you want to make a decent cab that won't fall apart and be full of light leaks, you're looking at close to 150.00 bucks for mats, and a day to make the thing, set stuff up so you can make sure where you want your holes, take it back out to make the holes...all that happy crap. i like my tent.

It can make it easier and quicker for moving things plus you do not have to make a permanent additions or modifications to the home in many cases.

I did not mean to start a debate about tents, I actually believe that a tent is more easy to setup, just that I happen to have a scrap room where i keep leftovers from renovation projects, and i have a lot of stuff there. I used wood from a torn down kitchen as tables and old pipes etc... with mainly the cost of screws and basic building material. I do not recommend anyone do the same except me lol

Been groin long? Ghetto Grow is the accepted name/title for a grow in a loosely defined space, such as a bath, a shower stall, a short hall, an enclosed back porch, an attic, etc. usually w/o high intensity lighting, may or may not have reflectors, painted walls, mylar or such frills. I operate a Ghetto Grow in a shower and I'm proud of it.

many people grow in closets or small rooms without tents. tents will not keep "critters" out. you need to clean and sterilize your grow room before planting and then be careful about what you bring in there.if you are coming from outdoors clean yourself well to avoid bringing insects into your room. baking your soil will kill any eggs or bugs in your soil. I have a closet grow (no tent) and dealt with spider mites about a year ago. treat your grow room like an operating room. keep it and anything you bring into it clean

ok do this
buy a tent and use it to grow ....when u make money and can expand do so into a room still using your tent for one of the cycles if u are doing photos ........if u are just going to do the whole room then use the old tent as drying place (hang a rack control humidity add in a 2 axis fan for wind movement leave the carbon filter in the top and bang humidor for drying and curing weed)

I have three tents. Small for seedlings with minimal cfl light. Then they move to a larger 4 x 2 x 5 for vegging and more T5 CFLs, nice and cool. Then to my 7' x 4 x 5 for flower/finish under 1000 hps vented glassed in tube w/fan. All are easy to light proof, move around, and vent. I'm wearing out the zippers though with too much 'care' in the big tent.

Highly recommend them.

I use HID in my tent which generates a lot of heat. With my carbon filter, the heat can be recycled into the garage in the winter to keep it toasty. During summer, I run lights at night and vent outside. Actually, in summer most of my growing happens outdoors. Gotta love sunshine! The tent can also be used in summer to flip outdoor plants early (mid July) to make sure they finish on time.
